Finally finished story mode which felt kind of scatter brained/ rushed to me and moments that were supposed to have a heavy impact just fell flat. Also dem PS2 era cutscenes and animations. Hilarious.
And the "neat mini games" that they described as helping break up the story mode, making you feel like you were a part of it? There's only about 6 tops and they are all variations of "match the button presses to throw/ stop projectiles."

Ya Cat Dash with Meter burn sort of does the job, although it could really use at least one hit of armor.
Also I like how the game has trouble recognizing my inputs when I put them in at the speed I normally input them in at.
This is going to be a tough game to crack.

It's not really offensive to me, but the fact that he bashes the story of a FIGHTING GAME this much and even says the game is barely worth getting because of it is just stupid.

I play a lot of fighting games and like to think I'm pretty good at some of them. The guy who wrote this says he also likes fighting games a lot but always hated Mortal Kombat because he could 'never remember how to do the fatalities'. He then praises Injustice because the 'coolest moves are easy to do'. This single argument is enough for me to completely disregard every opinion the man has ever had on the genre of fighting games. I'm not saying he's wrong. His priorities are just completely skewed.

The first half of the review consisted of pretty much nothing but praise for the game mechanics, which he did seems to have done precisely because of the argument you made about how gameplay is more important to most people in fighting games. You could've stopped reading after he talked about the gameplay if you didn't care about the story and taken it as an almost entirely positive review.

Even in his wrapup when he said he could only recommend it if you got it in the bargain bin, he said that had it been ONLY the Arcade mode, it would've been a great game. I don't really see the problem here if none of what he said is untrue.

Played it at a friend's house after letting myself get a little interested.
They've been playing for days, I played for 10 minutes and rinsed them all. Shallow game, I feel. The flow of the fights and animations were little better in person than I've seen online. It's just so offputting. Maybe it's normal and preferred to someone whose been into bad games for a long time, but going from like, Street Fighter and KoF to Mortal Kombat is jarring. From animations to hitboxes to single button combos it just really didn't sit with me.
My enlightened opinions and criticism.
