This is where the Wakfu Comics that haven't been scanned and translated yet do so. I said Tuesday was the date I'd post the comics, and that date still stands, but to apologize for my slow pace, have some Remington #2. It's in French, but I'll post a script to it soon. Enjoy!

Regardless, at least we know that whatever happens to him, his people will be saved...by a twelve year-old boy and his gang of misfits.

A few Franco-French names you may have problem with:
- Valy Domidat => Valérie Damidot: she presents a show dealing with indoor design on French channel M6.
- Janluk Alarhu => Jean Luc Delarue: presenter of a debate/talk show on France Television.
- Janpir Pernouille => Jean Pierre Pernaut: presenter of the 1pm o'clock news on TF1.

If there are other names you don't get, don't hesitate to ask. ;)

You can find every Dofus/Wakfu-Comic ever made in the french Ankama Shop. Since they are mixed up with non-Dofus-stuff, I'll try to list them up here. Numbers in brackets mean the number of volumes.

WAKFU - Les Larmes de sang (2)
WAKFU Heroes - Maskemane (1)
WAKFU Heroes - Remington (2)
WAKFU Heroes - Percimol (1 - complete)
WAKFU Heroes - Le Corbeau Noir (1 - complete)
WAKFU - L'Île de Lorose (1 - dunno if complete)
Les Chroniques de Wakfu (1)
Pandala (3)
DOFUS Quest - Les mains d'Eniripsa (1 - complete - actually, this seems to be more Wakfu than Dofus, since it is said to include the storyline of an episode which didn't make it into the final animated series. I dunno if this is true, though, since I can't remember where I read that.)

See them all here: http://www.ankama-shop.com/fr/h26-bd

And of course, there are those Mangas:
DOFUS Manga (14 - still seems to be ongoing - features our infamous Iop-warrior Goultard as sidekick or minor character, not sure about that)
Dofus-Arena (3)
DOFUS Hors série AC#5 (1)
DOFUS Hors série - Les Shushus de Rushu (1) (Goultard as main character afaik)
DOFUS Monster (6)

You can find them here: http://www.ankama-shop.com/fr/h25-mangas
They're available in French and the main Manga even in Spanish.

Comics like Remington seem to be a little mature for children. Compare it to the series, the animation is adapted for a more general audience.

Sometimes you just gotta switch tactics.

Like the WakJob in this pic.

Seriously though it was entirely by accident, I was looking for some pics of Maskemane and Remington on Google, one thing led to another, mention was made of previews for Remington #3 and Maskemane #2 and I followed the breadcrumbs to two locations:

Maskemane: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Maskemane-Le-Zobal/196857363676102

Remington: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Remington-Smisse/148202488573807

There's cover art and some preview panels (not entire pages) you can peruse in the 'Photos' section.

What can I say? Everybody's on Facebook.

Though I wonder if Maskemane needs multiple accounts...

To Kennymc (and others), here are the names I will need help with for Maskemane's extras. I don't know if we really should add notes for them, though. Or try to come up with translations. This is kind of confusing. We mostly ignored them in Remington 2.

Janpir Pernouille = Jean-Pierre Pernaut
Niklô Bulo = Nicolas Bulot? Not finding much about this guy...
Père Malfrost = Permafrost, right? Wondering about Kostar Malfrost.
Katerine Labourde = Catherine Laborde? Google's suggestions are real life savers.
Paro Cabanne = Paco Rabane, thanks to the Dofus Wikia.
Damour = Is this an actual boutique? Would be surprising considering the rest. I actually found a... vêtements éco-responsables faits main... blog called Ninon D'Amour, this looks like a really awkward coincidence.
Fifi Kandéroro = ?
Bazic Astik = This is in the TCG as well. Reminds me of Basic Instinct, but I don't suppose it has anything to do with it. Her TCG flavor text has to do with house cleaning (astique, yeah...).
Kamille Clodette = Camille Claudel, sculptor.
Shushuyaya Nature = I'm guessing this sounds like something else, reminds me somewhat of the rallye Aïcha des gazelles.
Tartagnon = Tarte à gnons? D'Artagnan?
Matrisse = Matisse, painter.
Frères Griff = Brothers Grimm, storytellers.

By the way, I'll probably finish up the TCG's Astrub tomorrow (not much left) and start with Maskemane right away.

>>38367
Niklô Bulo = Nicolas hulot, presenter of Ushuaïa Nature (=>"Shushuyaya nature").
Damour = Damart, mail-order selling shop for clothes (google "damart thermolactyl").
Fifi Kandéroro = Philippe Candéloro, former figure-skater.
Bazic Astik = Basic Instinct. Can't think of anything else. ^^
Tartagnon = D'Artagnan.
Père Malfrost = Dunno... You're probably right with "Permafrost", but I can't tell for sure.

The other ones look good.

Hey Glint, if you're still looking to add something to your order, Les Shushus de Rushu could be interesting.
http://www.ankama-shop.com/fr/h25-mangas/149-dofus-hors-serie-shushus-rushu

Apparently that's where Goultard's Dark Vlad personality was created. The story seems faithful to Ankama's dark mood and bad ends.

Wow, great job guys. Question for y'all. I always see swear words used in rush jobs on subtitled anime. Usually I find myself taken out of the story when I come across stuff like that. However in the comic it works I guess. Were the cuss words just simple translations or were they deliberate choices to convey a certain gruff impolite mode of speech?

I didn't reread everything (after four times it gets a little boring...), but I caught a few typos:

Page 23, panel 2: missing "be" in "you've got to be kidding".
Page 27, "Need more space?": fix "expandind" to "expanding".
Page 33: Missing the footnote reference after "Protector" on the first column's second to last line.

If you reupload it, might also want to remove the thumbs.db from the RAR ;)

Otherwise, really great result once again =)

Also, I don't remember us settling for "So you can be hurt after all" but I like it a lot =)

I generally just put in the words they tell me, though sometimes I have to get a bit creative to make things fit and still be in a roughly consistent font. I never add swearing, though, and it went through four proofreaders before getting to me so I have to assume they felt it was best.

>>38850
I would have to reject it, I'm afraid. I do it because it's the only way I have left to contribute to the community, now that the subbing effort is continuing without my encouragement and then stopped needing a script middleman. Also I've basically taken a vow to stop should Tot ever request it of me, and I kinda figure the easiest way to speed along that request is to start making a profit off of this.

Dammit, I went through it five times and I still missed that?

>Page 27, "Need more space?": fix "expandind" to "expanding".
...See above.

>Page 33: Missing the footnote reference after "Protector" on the first column's second to last line.

For huge shit like that, I just copy/pasted from the script I got, so if the footnote reference is missing, it's because it was missing from the script.

>If you reupload it, might also want to remove the thumbs.db from the RAR ;)

No idea how to do that; I literally just took the folder I had everything saved to (and there was no thumbs.db) and added it to a new rar file of the same name.

>Also, I don't remember us settling for "So you can be hurt after all" but I like it a lot =)

That's because you settled for 'Ah, see, when you put your heart into it...(you can do it when you want to...)', which just made no sense to me. And then google translate gave me 'bah, you know when you want ...', and all of this seemed to point to him commenting on Grany's outburst so I ad libbed.

And anyway, it's a little bit late to be fixing things. The upload is out, links are disseminating, and a guy even made an alternate upload for a cbz file. Still a huge rank up from The Black Raven, where I managed to miss out on deleted the french from an entire page...

Just expect a hiatus or two.

Goultard Bazar, Shushus de Rushu, then Maskemane 2.

Well. In June I guess; I've just started hearing about them. Will you make your next purchases in accordance with the poll? 'Cause otherwise I'll just list whatever you buy when it becomes too out of date.

My plan was Remy 4, Maskemane 3 and Boufbowl 1.

Nothing would be more requested than Remy 4. I'd be suprised if anything gets half the requests that Remy 4 would get. We finally have an end to an arc that took 8 months to finish. Sure Boufbowl might be new, and it has everyone's favourite Sacrieur, but nothing will knock Remington's popularity.

I'm already thinking about what reactions will be to Remy 5. We'll have another 8 months of waiting for a full story arc. And an adventure probably more crazy than the first.

Who says I can't send you a zip. early? I'm actually suprised Maskemane is coming after Shushus of Rushu. How many votes is Maskemane getting compared to the others?

Anyways, I scanned Goultard's Bazzar, but I didn't get a chance to crop the images and put them in a zip. yet. I was able to get most of the pages without the page being faded at the spine, but in order to do that, I had to scan one and a half pages at a time, totally flattening the spine with some rocks. Yet, surprisingly, the book still appears in mint condition.

I can start uploading in the morning. I'm busy during the day so you should get it by the end of tomorrow at latest.

Also, there was a little booklet with the Lapino. Should I scan it for shits and giggles?

Les Shushus de Rushu: 68
Maskemane 2: 51
Les Gardiens: 38

Play DOFUS, adopt (buy) DOFUS pets, Lapino's are an Eniripsa's best friend, Lapino's boost Eniripsa's in battle and they have distinctive ears and healing capabilities.

I'm not taking much liberties with that summary. That's the gist of it. But it's a cute little addition though. Wasn't expecting it.

So I did a bit of calculation, and if I were to order my next shipment from Ankama, it would run about 142 CND.

If I were to order my shipment from Maison De La Press, I should be around 110 CND. Plus I think they order from a private courier and not Canada Post which is currently on stirke.

>>39488

Well, it's an estimate. Seeing as it's a buisness that would buy it, they might get a discount. I don't have to pay for shipping, but I'll get some price markup and taxes I'm sure.

But I doubt it would be higher than buying from Ankama.

Seriously. The shipping on this order would be 50 bucks.

>I'm not asking because I want to translate them, I'm asking because there are 14 crisp pages on the official Ankama sites, and they're quite big. Is it possible to rip them of the page directly?

If you want to have the Ankama Sites pages to look at, use Chrome. It's EXTREMELY useful in these situations.

1) Go to the page you want to rip the images from.
2) Open the image viewer that Ankama uses to display the pages.

You may have to change the URL up a number to get the first pic in the series, depending on how quickly you went through steps 3, 4, & 5.

Maskemane 3 ----> Boufbowl 1

And then what people vote on next. My bets are on Remington 5, but hey! That's up for the people to decide. Shushus of Rushu and Tear of Blood 2 might find a translation sometime in the coming months.

Okay, I was in Paris first time in life and had enough time to buy few things...But I spend SO much time to find good shops, so for everybody who gonna be in Paris and look for anything:

-Remington and Maskemane comics I bought in store "Little Tokyo la maison du manga" 6 Rue Dante. Itmangashop@gmail.com. www.little-tokyo.fr. It had pink "Manga" inscription. There was also other Dofus/Wakfu things, like artbooks, Dofus manga, plushies and etc. The newest comics of Remington and Maskemane you can always find too in metro stores "Relax".
- Other things about Dofus/Wakfu you can also find in stores "Fnac" and "Album".

I write this because maybe somebody gonna have problems like me. XP

Okay, and now...
I bought all tomes of "Dofus manga" 1-15, "How to art Dofus&Manga" tome 1 and "Dofus 2.0 artbook".

Hello everyone, just a little update. With the large backlog of comics we have, and the many comics we are going to expect in October, Seth and I have decided we should try and get a second translator so we can get more comics out quicker. So this is the test that we had planned for any volunteer that would like to help us.

I have scanned the first 20 pages of Tears of Blood 2. Anyone who wants to volunteer, leave your e-mail here and I will send you the pages. After you are done send your translation back to me and then Seth and I will look over it. If we have more than one person volunteering, we will be seeing how accurate you are. If all of the translations we get are good...

Well then, this is great for everyone. We'll never have a backlog of comics again. We aren't limiting to only one more translator. Anyone who can help is great.

Hello. Just a note showing that the comics team hasn't suddenly died and fallen off the face of the earth in the past 10 days. We are very much alive and well and slowly working on releasing new comics. But I'm here also for another reason.

Now today is a very special day.

You might already notice it, but if you haven't, today is 6 months from the day this project started.

Now that's a pretty nice milestone there.

In the past 184 days we have translated seven comics.
In the past 184 days we have had many thousands of downloads.
In the past 184 days I have spent over half a thousand dollars on Wakfu stuff.

And it's worth it.

I didn't think that I would be doing this for 6 months. I can't speak for the rest of the team, but the determination to work on this project is nothing short of amazing. And for that I say thank you.

And to the thousands of people that have downloaded and read our work and make reaction images from them that I see in any thread related to Wakfu, thanks as well.

So. Six months. Thanks guys. Hope to be doing this for six months more.

Petite question pour vous, dans Remington 5, une femme dit être une « dame de fortune » (par opposition au titre de chasseur de prime qu'on lui donne d'abord). Personnellement ça ne me dit rien et Google n'est pas très loquace. Des idées ?
>> No. 41120
>>41119

>> No. 41128
>>41120

Maskemane 4 is still pending proofreading but a few of us have been rather busy since Remington 5 was released and we haven't really been able to set meeting times to finish it. Hopefully we'll manage soon, but exam season must be near so I can't make promises.

Yes, but they got pretty low priority in the polls so I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'll post this here since it's somewhat relevant and I don't want the info to die after a few hours. I found lore about the origins of Rogues (and Masqueraiders, but the comics already explain those), and although I don't have the precise source, it seems to be somewhere in Dofus and reposted on a few different sites.

To make a short story, it is Raval, protector of Septange (or whatever they call September in English, if different), that "created" the class around year 134*. The skull pattern apparently comes from his scepter, which features Menalt's skull (a former protector). The class became popular, etc... and Sram decided that these guys would make a nice addition to his pool of worshippers (and increase his power).

The rest of the story is a bit vague and arguably crappy, so I'll make it short. Sram gets rid (temporarily) of Raval and shows himself to the Rogues under the guise of Dralbour (Roublard [Rogue] backwards) and pretends to be the real god above Raval. Rogues begin worshipping him instead, he later reveals his true identity, and since after all his sneaky tactics were pretty impressive and no one cares about Raval anymore, Rogues now worship him directly.

* It seems likely that Vil Smisse was also a big part of it, but the mentions of him I've found don't have sources.

Moral of the story: We can finally say for sure that Masqueraiders and Rogues are worshippers of Sadida and Sram, respectively.

The script for Maskemane 5 is also ready, so release will be up to Deaf's availability (and having someone around for QA). For other scripts we're off for the holidays but hoping to do a bunch in January. Les Kamas de la Soif (Brotherhood of the Tofu) is next on schedule.

Hello people. Heard of the project and I would be greatly interested in helping you guy in the translation of the comic and animated show. As I've been living in a country where there is a very high concentration of french talking people, and that culturally we are greatly connected to france, yet at the same time in proximity of an english speaking country, I find it very easy to translate text and the like. Altrought I am well aware that I am nobody at the moment, let me prove my usefullness by letting me translate some wakfu work.

Sadly, I don't have in my possession untranslated work, as much of my wakfu library came from thebrotherhoodoftofu.com, where only finished work are published, as far as I know. I could help in the translation of episode 19: A fistful of Kamas, but I suspect that it in another project thread entirely.

Mainly the problem is I have no access to the raw comic, neither do I have a scanner, so I would need the untranslated work from someone who scanned it already.

In hope that I can be useful, I wish you all a goodday and goodluck on the project

How close you remain to the source is generally up to you. We usually try to preserve structure and choice of words but only insofar as it still sounds natural in English. In other words, we rarely rephrase entire sentences, but we don't go word for word either (that would be rather silly).

Can-head has officially joined the comics team and will be working specifically on the DOFUS Manga series. That is great news for everyone who was waiting for those but couldn't get them high enough on the priority polls.

And speaking of the polls, a new one will be created after we release Les Kamas de la Soif. The draft for that was completed today, so it should be ready in a week or two.

Greetings. It's been a while since I've said or responded to just about anything. Now I've noticed some grievences on 4chan grievences and I'd like to answer them all.

First off, the issue of the RAW's. There were a multitude of reasons. A reason was to ease the mind of our image editor, but the main reason was worry of a C&D notice from Ankama or France 3. The reasoning behind this was, unlike the show which is streamed on their website for free at release for anyone to rip a RAW from. They release it for free. As for comics, I have not seen Ankama drop an entire scanned comic for the public. If they did, I wouldn't be paying for shit and everyone could have RAW's. But I felt that it would be in the team's and everyone's best interests if I didn't post RAW's so that the translations could continue without the looming threat of C&D.

As for purchasing comics, the easiest way for me is to order from Ankama directly. I buy them for my personal enjoyment and I share it with people who love this series. I do it because I believe it's the right thing to do, and I feel like fans of this show should be exposed to the comics.

I don't give a fuck about e-peen. I just want to bring enjoyment. On the site where the team edits the comics, we have a tab of all the comments we get, both negative and positive. We look at the positive whenever we need some drive and the negative to see what we could do better.

Or get a laugh at obvious trolling

We don't hold a monopoly. Subs and comics are open to anyone, Comics aren't cheap though but it seems that people are fine with the people who work on the respective mediums now for the most part.

If you have any questions, we are always here in this thread to answer them.
