RebelTaxi put it best: It reminds me of how I used to be as a kid. People will look at this and think it's just some dumb show about a dumb kid, but I don't think that's the case at all.

/co/ General eh? Well Regular 4chan is seriously messing up with their reCaptchas. Anybody else experiencing this? It seems this is being done to make posting more time consuming. If this is permanent we may need to make this the new standard 4chan.

I think one of the biggest problems people are having is the style. Seems to turn a few off.

Season 2 of Venture Bros. finally got added to Netflix, albeit the episodes are in the wron order. Here's hoping more seasons get added, I'd love to see the show get new fans.

God damn though, looking back at the first season the animation is horrible compared to how the show looks now.

I think it fits the show so well, it's got a nice mellow coming of age feeling to it, it's so sweet and clever.

I JUST REALIZED

It's like Hey Arnold, it's got that feeling of the way things were rather than you remember. Wonderful.

What sets Clarence apart from other animated comedies?

Page: I think our show is pretty clearly sort of striving to be realistic … keyword “striving.” When we were making the show it seemed like the market was pretty flooded with fantasy and random humor, and I remember a lot of shows when I was growing up that were more poignant and relatable to situations I was in as a kid. They had real characters who can’t use magic to get out of their problems. I felt like there was a need for that and that was our focus driving the show. So, we’re the little taste of reality in a sea of fantasy and non-realism.

That actually kind of explains why I'm not feeling the attraction even though I can't really point to anything WRONG with it.

I never liked Hey Arnold either.

well it looks like the douchebag mod that 4chan's /co/ board has had for a while now will meet his end soon, since he's made the gigantic mistake of pissing off a fanbase(Poppy O'Possum to be specific) large enough to ensure that enough complaints will get to moot to get him fired

So, how was that free comic book day for you all?
I didn't got too much this year.
>> No. 227069
>>226994

I went into work before my store opened, so by the time I was free to go by 2:00, all that was left were a few scant free books. I ended up picking up the DC one and Street Fighter, since the only other free book was Guardians of the Galaxy and hey, I like Batman Beyond!

Mistake. That thing sucked. So stupid. We had a few artists doing work on the blank variants and stuff, so that was neat.
>> No. 227072
>>227069
Yeah, I saw a leaked version I posted on >>225951 and avoided it like the fucking plague. Sadly, some of my friends picked up and I'm not sure if they're aware of DC's current GRIMDARKXTREEEEME status.
>> No. 227073
>>227072
I certainly wasn't. Like Sharkman, I very much enjoy Batman Beyond, so when I saw Terry on the cover I thought it was going to have some entertainment, not "EVERYONE IS EITHER A MUTILATED CYBORG OR HAS A BEARD OR THEIR HEAD STITCHED INTO SOMEONE ELSE'S CHEST AND OOPS MY ARM IS GONE"

Ya'know I saw people criticize the choice of that as the freebie, but oddly enough it's the best possible comic DC could have picked.

It accurately portrays everything they are about now.

To my knowledge DC is not publishing a single good book at present, Wonder Women is the only one I think you could argue and even that's futzing it.

IT'S SO GOOD
>> No. 227253
Clarence is alright. But it's definitely something that's "needed" right now. We haven't had a slice-of-life with a grounding to its humor in a while.

Doug was an example of one (for the most part) but he and his entire setting was so milquetoast.

Hey Arnold! had some nice grounding. I wasn't a huge fan of it myself, but others were. Pigeon Man's Speech - Hey Arnoldyoutube thumb

and don't be hating on Ed Edd and Eddy. Look at it in the context of a person retelling exaggerated stories of their childhood like they were a tall tale. Three hustlers raising hell in suburbia amongst the rest of the latchkey kids. S'good.
