Yeah pretty much, her background is that plus instability and insecurity due to frequent moving due to her fathers job and as such she reads a lot and Steven represents a story from one of those fantasy books that's real though his life makes her feel understandably inadequate.

I wonder if the Lion is connected to Rose Quartz in some way?

I mean it took Steven to a room with the symbol of a rose on it. And it seems to have some manner of affinity toward the guy.

My family is Ghanaian and a lot of my cousins are first-generation Americans and Brits and that culture-clash can be really hilarious. Talking amongst the writers about them became the idea of the Pizzas. It was easy to come up with their chemistry once we knew who they were.

Kiki, Jenny, Nanefua and Kofi are named after my cousins and uncle. Nanefua’s attitude is inspired by my maternal grandmother Theodosia Okoh, a stateswoman and philanthropist who designed the flag of Ghana. She’s a firecracker for real.
