I figured I may as well start a new thread for the new season even if the old one wasn't full yet.

While all the advertisement says the new season starts a week from today, if the schedule on Cartoon Network's website and my DVR is too be trusted the actual first episode is airing tonight at 8:30 PM Pacific time.

>does that mean the Watersons (or at least Nicole's family side) were British?

No, Elmore is ostensibly set in the US (or a fictional US-like country) and both Nicole and Richard have lived there since they were kids.

The show itself is mostly made in the UK (and a couple different places in Europe) which leads to these kinds of locational inconsistencies with background stuff.

>I'm guessing with how The Treasure ended, that was the season finale?

Not at all. The season is supposed to have forty quarter-hour episode. That was just the tenth.

>Veteran British actor Brian Blessed is set to appear as Santa Claus in a one-off Christmas special of Cartoon Network’s award winning animated series The Amazing World of Gumball. . . .

>The episode in which Blessed is set to appear is titled Christmas and will air on Cartoon Network on Monday December 3rd at 5:30pm. In that episode, Richard accidentally runs over a hobo dressed as Santa (Brian Blessed). Believing that the concussed hobo might actually be Santa, Richard and the kids desperately try to make him remember who he is, whilst Mum tries to stop him messing up her kitchen! Will Santa remember who he is in time for Christmas or will Christmas be cancelled this year?!

>Speaking of Blessed’s involvement, executive producer Daniel Lennard said: “Blessed’s inimitable irrepressible personality and distinct voice was the perfect choice to play Santa Claus”

That's a Monday. Are they moving the airtime back to with Adventure Time and Regular Show or is it just for the special?

to escape the dreadfully bad threads lately, i think it's time we get the hype gears into motion.

think Season 2 will keep up? think season 3 will go even higher?

Good to hear. I've been feeling bad about missing the last few episodes, so I'll make sure to pin a reminder this time around.

I really can't say I care too much about Gumball. The show itself is very mediocre, but the hiatuses.....my god. The hiatuses that this show has endured has murdered my interest for it just like Young Justice.

I like Gumball for the sheer fact that it's all of the creator's unused advertising mascots getting to live a second life, as it were. Anyone who has ever written or drawn a character that never ends up getting used can relate.

The Comedy for Animators blog gave a really glowing recommendation for Gumball, believing it to be the best show since Ren & Stimpy. The test pilot is also included, in case anyone missed it:

http://comedyforanimators.com/2013/01/29/amazing-world-of-gumball-test-footage/

A thought occurred when I read that post: Gumball is one of the few cartoons that's still doing visual comedy. While I enjoy Adventure Time and Regular Show, the humor for both shows rely heavily on conversations, giving little room for any funny images or anything that can be considered "cartoony". I can't think of any other show on Cartoon Network that fully embraces itself as a cartoon and just let loose besides Gumball.

Ed Edd and Eddy?

And quite frankly best since Ren and Stimpy? No offense, but that's not much of a compliment seeing as how Gumball isn't a particularly good show. It would be better if Anais (obnoxious genius kid sister) and Richard (lazy stupid slob) never existed.
>> No. 203995
>>203993
I meant currently, but Ed Edd and Eddy is another good example of a cartoony cartoon.

Have you watched the second season? Anais and Richard are portrayed much better than before.

The first season gave me a horribly bad impression of the show and the hiatuses of hell destroyed my interest in the show overall. Same goes to other hiatus hell shows like Looney Tunes Show, Young Justice, and Gravity Falls.

then you should try them again before weighting in, don't you think?

Anais still adds nothing of value to the show, IMO. Richard ... Ehh, I'm not a fan, but nothing anais does entertains me. The only time I've liked an episode with her was the treasure hunt one because she got hr comeuppance for being so bossy all the time.

For the uninformed, a bunch of episode aired in Spain already. It was in English, but the few videos I can find are record-a-TV-with-a-camera quality. CN UK is starting to air new episode again, so hopefully we can get some better ones.

Here's the first one, The Virus:

I don't like the show, I just watch it when I got nothing. The show is a cherry pick style. Most episodes aren't any good and a few are riddled with gold.

Gumball, Darwin, and Richard are idiots and when the show spams their idiocy you know you're in for a shitty episode. Anais is a bitch. And Nicole is the only consistent (outside that Fridge episode) endearing character in that mess of a series.

Just finished marathoning season 2 and the quality varies a LOT. What eps did you see, if you don't mind my asking? Hard to please everyone, but it's entirely possible you just got "lucky" and watched a string of the duds.

I can't remember which ones. All of them merge together in a way to me. I've watched a lot of season 1 episodes while only watching about 3 episodes of season 2. I'll admit season 1 had a little less yelling and insanity, which made it more watchable to me.

Season 2 to me is equivalent to a recent episodes of spongebob.
