Granada means pomegranate (so granadilla means something like "mini pomegranate"), but I believe it's only a cosmetic similarity. It doesn't taste like bananas and cucumbers for sure.

Every time I go to Chinatown these things are in most of those little privately owned fruit stands and I've been meaning to buy one, but they look freaky and can supposedly kill you and I have no clue what they taste like.
