Something small, quiet, and inconspicuous. While I do love looking at awesome chic houses, I'm paranoid as hell when I'm alone and wouldn't be able to stand spacious dwellings with lots of windows. Also, the dusting would be murder.

The kitchen has to be god-tier, though.

BR? BR? AHUHEUEHEUEH

That's a neat looking apartment. And yeah, while I think I might like one of those wooden huts, I'm that paranoid and scaredy too. Big windows into the dark = NOPE.

It's easy to look at a big, pretty, quiet house by day and think "oh yeah,I could TOTALLY live here!", until it gets dark, silent, isolated and you watched like, Paranormal Activity or something.

I want a little yellow house hidden by the trees and flora surrounding it. Good front porch with a couch on it. Plenty of space in the kitchen, wood floors and white walls, all of my books neatly put away in floor-to-ceiling shelves. One main room, one kitchen, and the steps lead up to the attic room where I sleep. Small and sweet, yet big enough to entertain a few people.

Somewhere close to where I can do shopping if I need to, but far away from annoying people. Not very large, but also not cramped. Good plumbing, clean, everything in working order, bedroom, guest bedroom/room for possible kids (maybe), living room, bathroom, kitchen and dining area, possibly a room for an office and/or library.

I'm specific on what I want inside it, but I don't really care what it actually looks like or where I end up living.

Subterranean/windowless space, preferably including a hidden tunnel to an outbuilding. Movable panels everywhere. Visible pipes and wires. If anything is hidden behind the wall, there should be what basically amounts to a schematic of it painted on top so you can easily see, for instance, what outlets share a circuit. These things would be is somewhat useful, but I also just like the feeling of being inside a large machine. Space for building things in, general storage, bookshelves. I'd wouldn't mind living near some sort of hacker-space or other area where I'd have access to tools for working on all kinds of crazy stuff without having every tool in the world at my own house, but I'd willing to do the latter. Somewhere I could swim would be great, especially if it was indoors/under a dome, since I'd like to live somewhere that gets cold but don't want to have the pool closed 3/4ths of the year. Not sure how much of a kitchen I need, but I like to cook, and if I end up making food for people like either of my parents do I'll certainly need some space for it.

After finding out how much cheaper property is in Europe compared to Australia, I've made it my new life goal to buy a house in rural France. Should be doable before 2030.

My house cost $417k AUD and is built on a relatively small block of land in a 10 year old development. In contrast, this house costs considerably less than $417k AUD and is huge...

You know, I've been wondering about the possibility of genetically engineering plants to produce electricity in a manner similar to that of electric fish. I think I ought to try my hand at biohacking sometime and put all that time I spent paying attention to my cellular
biology classes to use.
>>367389
Huh, don't think I really took much of a look at this one earlier. Seems like something I could stick with, though preferably with crenelations or another simple decoration along the top edge. Maybe not the right location depending on whether it gets snow, I'd like that, or somewhere to swim. Not sure which, since I tend to exercise more underwater, but if I live on my own I'd stay out of the water a lot since swimming alone isn't really safe.

No, they already photosynthesize just fine. All we need to do is engineer an environment where they share that energy without dying. Such as make their roots being attached into storage unit that regulates and feeds them nutrients to supplement taking in solar energy. They already are living solar panels, you just need to complete the circuit and make them store some of that energy into a way we can use it without killing them.

>> No. 368885

Yeah, and an easy way to do that is to have them create a bio-electric field. Then you just stick some wires in it or charge via induction. The worst thing that could happen is that you eventually end up with a variety of weeds that randomly shoot lightning at everything around them, so I'd probably go for something a bit slow-growing. I'll look into to other ways of taking energy from plants, though.

All depends on what kind of wood. Each species of tree has wood with its own unique properties. Lignum vitae resists rot to such a degree that it was commonly used for fasteners and nails on ships. However, that very same wood is so dense that it sinks in water faster than Macaulay Culkin's career in the mid-90s.
