Surely there has to be a lot of people who do not support the Avatar's decision to let the spirits come and go into the mortal world freely. Could this possibly lead to an anti-spirit group similar to that of the Equalists? How would Avatar Roku think knowing now that his spirit can crossover into the mortal world? (Unless his spirit is permanently bound to Korra's.) He is portrayed as an old fashioned segregationist in the comics and as far as I know those are considered canon.

Humans are going to need to be able to protect themselves against the spirits, its a fact they are not always benign

Isn't it a little dangerous to let humanity's biggest threat just walk in?

I wonder if Koh's going to show up again?

Well, spirits were able to cross over before -- which is why I think this hooplah over Koh is ridiculous because we now have two examples of him just popping over into the physical realm to steal faces. The spirits who dislike humans for the most part seem to have chosen to stay in the spirit world, so I think a problem they're going to have is that the HUMANS won't be able to learn to keep their distance.

Isn't it the Avatar's job anyway to keep the dark spirits at bay?

Well, I think it depends on the situation. If we have stuff that was happening this season, with dark spirits crossing over and attacking humans (but we don't know if they were really just doing that or if it was because Unalaq told them to) then yeah Korra would have to stop them. If we have a dark spirit who just wants to be left alone in the spirit world and humans keep provoking it to the point it lashes out, the humans would be at fault for that one.

Man don't they ALWAYS make it the human's fault in these kinds of things? Always playing up the "Hurr humans are such little bastards"

I'm not saying there aren't going to be asshole spirits who are gonna take advantage of this, I mean in Beginnings things were so bad for the humans they had to go hide on the back of lionturtles (though I think that conflict mostly stemmed from your typical clash between cultures than it did most spirits having it out for humans), I'm just saying I don't think one side will entirely be at fault if a conflict arises in the future.

Final Boss will be Raava and Vaatu's "parent", the manifestation of the primordial nothingness that preceded all things. It'll give certain humans the power to harm or destroy spirits (either through granting knowledge or outright supernatural might) to mess with the balance so it can drag everything back into itself in a misguided attempt to definitively cease the seemingly eternal suffering and hardship that comes with existing.

Just an over-the-top one.

Well the season did end with UltraKorra smacking the crap out of Kaiser Vatulaq

Are you for serious? That idea gets mocked every time it's brought up.

In the context, it isn't. Unalaq doesn't believe darkness is inherently evil, so he doesn't mind calling himself Dark Avatar, especially since Vaatu is not particularly shiny either.

One of my biggest issues with season 2 though is that they hadn't really given any reason for the audience not to think the two are the same. They could've gotten something going on with Vaatu meaning unification of the spirit and human worlds, but too little too late and mostly tell rather than show. I wonder if they trimmed out most of the Republic City stuff down we might've gotten more time to see this play out.

Keep moving them goal posts. I bet you think that the amnesia subplot was genius, too.

I have no issues with it.
