What could they do if they were to do a series where the population of the world has expanded into the space age and now people reside in the heavens? How would this effect the spirit world when it's confirmed that a celestial body is a spirit? Would this mean other bodies also have a spirit or at least one in the spirit world? Would that realm be larger than one has previously thought? How would bending translate into an atmosphere with no oxygen? Will earthbenders resides on asteroids? Will waterbenders reside on icy planets and comets? Will firebenders reside on hot planets like Venus or Mustafar? Will airbenders be left behind on humanity's original planet?

What role will the Avatar play in this scenario?

Pic is unrelated.

/co/ had a thread that matched the characters of Firefly to a certain element. How did they do?

Mal = Firebender
Zoe = Earthbender
Kaylee = Non-bender
Jayne = Earthbender
Simon = Waterbender
River = Avatar
Sheppard Book = Firebender
Inara = Firebender (disputed, reason due to her being graceful and wears red)
Wash = Airbender

What if ON the moon, literally anyone with any water tribe ancestry can waterbend... and that's not even looking at people who were ALREADY waterbends can do.

There is no water on the moon.

Bring water up with you, the point is that the full moon powers up waterbenders, so actually being ON the moon should be making them go super saiyan

What is a saiyan? And how would the water stay on the moon with no atmosphere?

If the moon is the spirit of Yue would this make Sokka the first astronaut for tapping it?

But that's because of the tides. There are no tides on the moon, and therefore, possibly no bending.

The full moon has nothing to do with tides though.

http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/education/kits/tides/tides06_variations.html

>The moon is a major influence on the Earth’s tides, but the sun also generates considerable tidal forces. Solar tides are about half as large as lunar tides and are expressed as a variation of lunar tidal patterns, not as a separate set of tides. When the sun, moon, and Earth are in alignment (at the time of the new or full moon), the solar tide has an additive effect on the lunar tide, creating extra-high high tides, and very low, low tides—both commonly called spring tides.

That's the new AND full moon though, and doesn't the new moon IMPAIR waterbending?
>> No. 114973
Once civilization in the Avatar universe achieves escape velocity spaceflight they will realize that their physics operates under self-contradicting rules of both classical and quantum mechanics thereby leading reality to collapse into itself and existence to snuff itself into unbeing. So there you go. Good job. You've destroyed everything Asami.

I think that's specifically a lunar eclipse, not the new moon.

Nah, once they enter a Rationalist Revolution, they'll begin really examining Bending and realize that things like that are just rituals used to put the bender into the correct mental state to access their powers. Many benders will continue operating under Traditionalist Bending Rituals because they work, but more individualistic benders will begin developing their own traditions for accessing those powers.

No one will be able to be at the apex of their power at all times--the peaks and valleys are a necessary part of how bending power works. But the individualists will begin developing their own symbols from which they can inspire themselves to greater power in place of things like the Moon or Sozin's Comet.

You seem to forgot that the spirits actually exist in their world and may still have something to do with bending.

I'm bullshitting either way, so it's not like that's the only thing I'm ignoring for my silly little aside.

No, it makes sense, eventually they're going to enter a stage where they're going to want scientific answers to such phenomenons as bending and even the spirit world.
