No problem. But the credit goes to Trojan People, who scanned them first. I just cropped the ones s/he provided to this site:

She'll probably trade him for fire flakes or a novel if how she treated him in Return to Omashu was of any indication.

you know that was all azula's influence, right?

Huh, thought that groups like that would exist in the Avatarverse, didn't think that we'd ever see them though. :)

Also, aw, I thought that Mai was going to do a Shogun Assassin thing, arrying her brother from place to place and fighting off the ninjas her dad sends to bring them back...

...this is good too, I guess.

Don't lose hope, Mai might still get the champuru series she deserves
>> No. 111947

Given what we'd already seen in that episode in how Azula dealt with Ty Lee, it was implied that Mai was acting out of an understanding of where she stood with Azula rather than it having anything to actually do with her brother.
>> No. 111951
Well, the art was... mediocre. The story was okay, I guess. Pretty short. But does Mai really think she can just take her brother from her parents and have him live with their aunt and expect to get away with it? I don't see that sticking without a fight.

Maybe she runs away and goes full Lone Wolf.

she just might be holding him until their mom shows up and promises not to let her father expose him to that sort of thing anymore

i mean she didn't report her father to the guards or anything, i see it less as a kidnapping and more just like 'next time you want to conspire to kill my ex-boyfriend leave my baby brother out of it'

Mai is best girl.

Knifebending >> all other bending

Toph would be strut up all like "I AM MAGNETO MASTER OF MAGNET" and Mai would be all like *Wooden dart to the face*

Then she'd put on sunglasses while saying something like "I guess she didn't see that coming."

And bear in mind, Mai very nearly killed Aang the first time they met. Only reason why he didn't end up with a knife between his eyes was because he stopped his staff at the right time.

I recall getting into an argument once as to whether Toph deliberately dodged Mai's attack in The Chase, or if she lucked out.

With her knives in one hand and roses in the other... Mai there is making me think of Tuxedo Mask

If she suddenly appeared before Zuko's group on their quest to find mummy, in disguise ala the Blue Spirit and packing rose-themed throwing weapons, and saved his stupid ass from losing to his little sister again like always or from some big scary spirit beast, that would be just aces.

It does make much more sense that way around than this way around. All things considered.

Honestly the whole reason Zuko and Mai had all this drama and broke up is because if they hadn't Mai would be around to tell Zuko to stop trusting his crazy sister (And they wouldn't be able to do this wierd... thing... with Suki)

>It does make much more sense that way around than this way around.

Except other than him throwing a rose at the monster and saying a speech, Sailor Moon does save Tuxedo Kamen more often than the other way around. So it still kinda fits, except Mai would be all cool and snarky instead of a crybaby ditz.

Given that Toph heard Azula getting a projectile weapon during Black Sun Part 2 it seems that Toph can hear projectiles being readied or thrown but can't tell exactly where they are.
>> No. 112004
>>112002
What projectile weapon? I remember Azula nearly shanking Sokka, but by that point she was already pinned against the wall I think, making it easier for Toph to pick up on the vibrations.
>> No. 112005
>>112004

I think you're misremembering.

>Sokka was charging at Azula
>Azula was all "come and get it peasant"
>snikt(bub)
>knife appears
>Toph senses it either through hearing or earthsense and then pins Azula's armed hand against the wall with a rock cuff
>> No. 112006
>>112005
Yeah, that makes more sense than from what I was remembering, thought that only really suggests that Toph can hear relatively close weapns being readied, whereas Mai tends to stay quite a distance away.
>> No. 112009
>>112005

The key thing to remember here is that Toph sensed the weapon in Azula's hand. We know she can't see things flying in the air and since Mai is pretty fast, keeps her distance and can shoot multiple projectiles with ease, Toph would have her work cut out for her.

Can we take the time to appreciate the first panel of this page? Mai's wrist weaponry on display! Fucking badass! Never saw that on screen in the show.

I could have sworn that either 'Return to Omashu' or 'The Boiling Rock' gave us a good view of her wrist weaponry.

Probably getting it mied up with some fanart, though.
