Bolin appreciation thread.

General fanworks starring Bolin, inappropriate sexualization of a teenage boy, rage at Bobo getting booted out of the spotlight so his brother could take center stage, hopes for season 2 Bolin, etc.

I'd like to see him step up his earthbending next season for one. When he actually gets lines he's gold, but battle wise I think his grand accomplishment this season was knocking over a robot that Korra already disabled.

Bolin gets all of the lines that would have been given to Sokka, and I approve wholeheartedly.

Well apart from any of the smart, sensible ones. But I don't want to start shit.

I think you should rewatch the first series if you remember Sokka's cracks being any wittier than Bolin's. Still funny, though, so rewatch it anyway.

If anything, Sokka's humour in season one was at his smartest, when is VA wasn't trying so hard to be Jim Carrey and just followed the script.
He sort of turned into a less annoying Jar Jar in season 2 since Toph took the sarcasm slot in the Gaang.

I think PJ Byrne is one of the best voice actors in Avatar, let's hope his character gets more development and stuff to do in Korra's season two.

I love what little of Bolin we got.

I'm not sure I agree with the whole metalbending thing a lot of fans throw around.

Toph was plenty awesome even without metalbending, so I want to see him improve in the earthbending department first.

Not to say I don't want to see him learn metalbending eventually.

I've been reading a lot of writefaggotry about Bolin training as a Metalbending Cop, and it's something I would love to see in the show.

The biggest problem Bolin has, in good part because of his lack of screentime, is that he is still very immature and naive, though his heart has always been on the right place.

Him persuing something on his own account is just what Bolin needs right now. Let him grow out of Mako's fucking shadow.

Picture only partially related. Fuck the haters.

No you misunderstand, what I mean is that Sokka talked sense and had clever stuff to say.

Bolin isn't exactly the brightest mind of his generation. Hell, even in the show that came across. I only ever remember Asami even humoring with a response.

Bolin was a Beta Putz.

If there was a king of all Beta's it wouldn't be Bolin, because he would be too Beta to hold such a position of authority and attention.

Well, just the fact that he's the jokester guy was enough to start the Sokka Clone accusations. Its not like he can be the team strategist/inventor too

Yeah, but it isn't even the same style of humor really. That's why it bugs me to see him compared to Sokka all the time.

Sokka= Meat and sarcasm
Bolin= Nervous, highspeed jibba jabba that goes nowhere.

Sokka stopped being sarcastic forever the moment he said that line.

Lets just say it like it is.

Bolin's styling of humor is very jewish.

So tempted to do fanart with Bolin as Woody Allen and Korra or Asami as Annie Hall now.

I'm sorry. I was the one who started the arguments. This is just sorta what TLOK does to people.

I'd very much like to go back to liking things now.

Could you get any more dramatic?

You should know by now that the people who post the most anti-Korra stuff are the people who purport to be its fans.

I've never seen a fanbase that contains so much vitriol for the very show they watch.

Hey, is it me, or does Bolin get along really well with animals? I know that people want to see him metalbend, too, but I wonder if that trait will be expanded upon in the second season.

Same thing here brah.

Could work even better if Season 2 goes with a "ALL DIS PROGRESS IS PISSING OFF NATURE" plot (and i hope it doesn't).

Or... Bolin could join the Police and become the equivalent of a K-9 Handler.

Even though the Nuktuk stuff was fun(ny) and they sort of threw him a bone when they had him save worst president ever President Raiko, I still don't think Bolin got very much character development in book 2. He's still sort of the Awkward Guy, and one of his few shining moments was when he helped the Krew fight off dark spirits in the finale. Here's hoping book 3 treats him better.
