I figured a pic of Korra chowing down to restore her health was fitting for the OP for this one. Korra looks so cute when she eats :3

Our bodies aren't ready/not prepared/hold on to our butts/this one's gonna be a doozy/etc.

And I have a feeling AsamixMako will die a quiet death. Please just let Asami be happy Brychael!

He certainly seemed non-plussed over her answer. I guess he thought there was no harm in asking.

No. That was hackneyed saturday morning cartoon villain writing. The scene didn't need that dialogue, or any dialogue. It would've been more poignant transpiring with only the sound of the rain or with the underscored music by itself

Like walking in on her mother apparently making out with her?

>>105081
This. The only reason Amon asked is because it was a chance to show Lin in a superhero/honorable light some more. It's not a bad thing, but having that whole scene play out in silence would have been truly tear-bending.

or it have played out totally different/worse

Lin - "even if I did know, I wouldn't tell you!"
Amon - "that is the truth so I'll let you keep your bending. Lieutenant, hamstring her. Make her a cripple just like her mother."

now that is some bad writing. be glad for the par for the course writing they're using

Best Pema moment ever.

It doesn't say much about this moment in particular, but it says a lot about Pema.

I'm always so late to the party on these discussions.

THIS WHOLE EPISODE. GAH. FUCK. AUGH.

I don't normally join in shipping bullshit, but Mako shouldn't end up with anybody. Also, what happened to all of Bolin's lines? It's like, now that the plot got serious he can't talk anymore?

DAT FIGHTAN was fantastic. I love seeing the adult benders, and Tenzin shooting air bullets was kickass. Lin is always great but...but... oh god, Lin ;A;

Korra is finally learning to accept her role, it's nice to see. It was also nice to see her using waterbending for once. And to see Naga have a role.

If Asami turns evil I'm gonna be so pissed.

Big question though. When Aang was spiritbending, it was a battle of the wills. When he did Ozai he was still young and it was a power struggle and when he did Yakone he was older and more strong willed so it just was a given and he took it over.

If Amon is doing ANYTHING similar to how Aang does it, I cannot imagine that Lin wouldn't have put up a good struggle against it happening. She's a policewoman and she has a LOT to protect right now. I don't think she'd give up. Leads me to believe that the theory about it being blocked chi instead of removed bending is more likely.

>Probably because she was the only Avatar who outright said they would kill someone if they had to.

wtf. Why is everyone forgetting Yangchen? When Aang consulted her for what to do with the Fire Lord, here's how it basically went down.
Aang: "Avatar Yangchen, I seek guidance on what to do about the Fire Lord. As you are a fellow Air Nomad and thus share my belief that it is wrong to kill any living thing, I hope you can be of more use than the other Avatars w-"
Yangchen: "Kill the bitch."
Aang: "But... but... you're an Air Nomad! Don't you believe all life is sacred?"
Yangchen: "Yeah, it's a pisser, isn't it? You die inside a little when you sacrifice your beliefs like that. But still, kill the bitch. I kept peace during my tenure by scaring the SHIT out of everyone."
>> No. 105200
Yangchen is my favorite past Avatar. Just cause she's obscure and you may not have heard of her.
>> No. 105203
>>105199
I said Kyoshi was the only Avatar who actually SAID she'd kill someone. We know Yangchen would do it but only because we were told she did such a good job as the Avatar and was willing to do whatever it took to keep peace. And if IIRC Yangchen never told Aang to kill Ozai, she said he had a duty as the Avatar to protect the world at any cost, and it's okay if he does kill someone because he's the Avatar first and an airbender second.

I swear, I'm going to be SERIOUSLY pissed off if next week we don't get resolution to the Spider-rat problem.

Is Amon going to do anything about them? How bad a problem is it? Would Benders do a better job taking care of things?
>> No. 105257
Eh, since the nonbending types seem to implicitly take jobs like exterminators, windowcleaners, office assistant etc. etc. I'd imagine that they'll be dealt with in Amon's Brave New Utopia.

Other than True Blood, Falling Skies and redneck derby, it was the most watched thing on cable over the weekend. After last week's trough it's back to proper health and I'm sure the finale's going to see some hefty audience growth.

Or other benders.

Look again. There's one whole group of them in all of Republic City, and they all trained under Lin, who was taught by Toph.

I think you mean Sparkly Sparkly Bush Man.

I'd have more to say about the awesomeness of this episode in general, but these threads max out too damn fast now, especially since I'm usually late to join in.
