Went back six pages and couldn't fin one, so fuck it, here's a new one.

I'm reading Neverwhere. It's been great so far, despite the somewhat cliché protagonist.

Great book, but I've had a hard time picking it up ever since my Maine vacation ended.

this will sound gross but....the term "bathroom reading" exists for a reason.

I kind of like Neverwhere myself, but unfortunately, clichés abound. There are some interesting bits too, so don't give up yet.

A Brief History of Time.
It's not an easy ride.

Recently i've gone through Larsson's stuff, which I found to be a decent read.

Now, in amongst comics and art books:

The book thief and various Egyptian Mythology books.

I'll totally finish my Sherlock Holmes collection one day. Totally.

Books that I have started and have yet to finish:
House of Leaves - Mark Danielewski (reread)
Guns, Germs, and Steel - Jared Diamond
Against the Day - Thomas Pynchon
The Blank Slate - Steven Pinker

Also a while back I checked out Gödel, Escher, Bach from the library, but I only got a couple chapters in before they recalled it.

I really need to finish some of these books. I started reading Against The Day in 2008. I have the same problem with videogames.

Oh hey, I just finished that a couple weeks ago. :3

Right now it's All Quiet on the Western Front.

HELL YEAH, MOTHERFUCKER. I bought this yesterday, along with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Guards! Guards! A book called 'Jailbait Zombie' also caught my eye; I might've bought it if I weren't worried about funny looks from my mother.

Also I tried reading the Han Solo books I have, but my God they're so boring. Do all the Star Wars books rely so heavily on the reader being well-versed in the series lore? That's terrible story-telling.

Not all of 'em, no.

See, this is why you always start with the Thrawn Trilogy. And then maybe end with the Thrawn Trilogy.

Thoughts so far:
It had me laughing at the author biograph bluh. Then it went on to be only mildly interesting for a while, then Skulduggery started talking and oh god I want Derek Landy to write my dialogue now. The story is starting to pick up momentum now, and its nice to see a magic system for once were there's no huge drawbacks on fireballs.
Overall; Impressed, will read more.

Things will get increasingly interesting as the books go on.

And the deaths just get more and more gruesome. By the third book, people are getting treated like wet towels.

You know if the new one is out yet? I haven't been downtown in a while, so I don't know if my local stores are carrying it.

Anyone who isn't reading this series should, by the way. This is fantastic freakin' stuff.

it's out! haven't read it yet as I'm still working through the rest of the series - I downloaded all of them in a single zip, so I can upload it if you want.

I'm definitely planning to buy these asap.

I would certainly recommend giving it a second chance. It's a series which always rewards you for reading on.

Right now it's following three people with no visible connection whatsoever doing entirely different things in three far separate places. I can't wait to see how it all ties together.
It also had a nice quote on voodoo a few pages back.

Right now I'm reading Hard Times for my English class, and so far it's just kind of pissing me off. Dickens may have been a great wordsmith, but his characters are just so annoyingly one-dimensional.

Yes sir, I can see that these men are fun-hating statistics fetishists and that the little girl represents innocence and wonder. Can you please stop hitting me over the head with it now?

Finally getting around to reading the second half of the Book of the New Sun. As was my experience with the first half, I'm enjoying it, but have no clue what the fuck is going on a little more often than I'm comfortable with. Also, these books have wicked cool covers.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked UA. It's definitely worth reading when you get to it.
