I think Avatar and Cameron should win as well, but I don't think it'll happen. A lot of critics love Hurt Locker and really fixate on the whole female director thing.

Avatar will definitely get the special effect and cinematography Oscars.

Honestly I didn't enjoy many of the best picture nominees. Avatar was just a tech demo, and the Hurt Locker was pretty boring.
In fact the only ones I really enjoyed a lot were District 9 and Up, but I knew going into it that they didn't stand a chance.

Excuse me, but the picture is just stupid. Just like when last year everyone complained about the fact that no one knew Slumdog Millionaire before the Oscars, so obviously it didn't deserve the awards but the one film everyone talked about, The Dark Knight, did.
The highest grossing films of 2009 were Avatar, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Transformers 2.

At first I was like "Aw poor James Cameron :(" but then I remembered that if anything he would be wiping away his tears of sadness with hundred dollar bills so I think he'll be okay.

I wish Tarentino and District 9 had won SOMETHING but Hurt Locker was pretty great.
