Hello there, I'm Growlbro, and I like to dump.

Please provide me with fanart of MST3K, or cool shots from riffed movies. My dream is to have something cool and memorable for EVERY MOVIE. Slowly fulfill my dream!

Much as I dig the bots, they don't lend themselves to fanart as much as, say, the humans. Or the movie characters.

I just found this eleven years old interview which you probably already know:

http://www.avclub.com/articles/joel-hodgson,13595/

Do not read this if you're in a bad mood. It's so depressing. Even the picture is depressing.
I hope Joel's fine now and enjoying himself with Cinematic Titanic.

No.8580
Yea good hope to him and CT even though of the two I prefer Rifftrax seeing as they don't get so caught up on setup and just go for flinging the shots down field(though I do miss Film Crew a bit) It just has a more pleasant feel (Next is so stupidly adorable with his wife riffing along with him, he really needs to so one with his boys)

No.8593
I have trouble understanding why Cinematic Titanic and Rifftrax are two separate entities. Someone's not fond of someone, that much is clear.

No.8595
>>8593
>The fact that Cinematic Titanic involves almost every MST3K writer and performer aside from Kevin Murphy, Mike Nelson, and Bill Corbett, who happen to be the regular cast of RiffTrax, has prompted fan speculation about a rivalry between Hodgson and Nelson surrounding the two projects, but the pair have consistently denied that such a rift exists and expressed praise for each other's projects, pointing out that they fill different niches and there is more than enough room for both of them. Speaking with Associated Content in 2009, Mary Jo Pehl, who has worked in both projects, denied knowledge of any animosity between the Cinematic Titanic and RiffTrax groups. "I have no idea if there's some sort of family feud between the Joel vs. Mike factions. If there is, people ought to find better things to do with their time, like debating which way the toilet paper should hang on the spindle, or if the opening of pillow cases should face the outside of the bed or the inside when placed. RT does their thing, and Cinematic Titanic does theirs."

Apart from the differences in format I think the reason is that Joel knows Trace Beaulieu and Josh Weinstein since way back then and Mike, Kevin and Bill are still good friends because they spent the last years of MST3k together.

Also this

>In 2006, Nelson was appointed Chief Content Producer for Legend Films. He will be responsible for building and leading the company's creative content, providing on-going commentaries and developing other premium web-based programming. "I'm very excited. Legend Films is such a great fit for me — talented people who consistently put out a great product. Plus, there are Flaming Hot Cheetos in the lunch room vending machine. That made it an easy choice to join the team", enthused Nelson

Which lead to the creation of Rifftrax

I'm pretty sure Kevin was there in the beginning as a writer.

wonder if they could get Conan to drop in for a riff or two?

No.8640
At least Bill and Trace get along:

>Just had a lovely Italianate lunch with the original Crow and 3rd Topo Gigio, Mr. @TraceBeaulieu
>@BillCorbett Thanks for lunch. Bringing the puppet wasn't too distracting? He likes going out. He like to drive the car.

It's probably all just made up by bored fans like the whole Joel vs. Mike thing. I have seen t-shirts with Mike>Joel written on them. Who the fuck wears that and why?
I'll wear my Joike pullover, thank you very much.

No.8650
>>8640

overall the key difference between them is Joel likes the productions and Mike likes writing and just making fun of movies.

Would be nice for them to do some kinda joint venture on the next Rifftrax national riff.
