One of the best examples: Motorhead

Lemmy is, for all intents and purposes, Motorhead. However, each incarnation of the band, from Eddie & Philthy to Phil & Mikkey and all the Wurzels and Robbos in between have left their respective, significant imprints on the band's sound and history. They are all equally awesome in their own right, but different enough to keep things fresh.

Right, so the mothership is pretty divided on Plastic Beach right now, so what do you think guys?

As far as Gorillaz albums go, it is their weakest. That being said, i love it.

Great Songs:Rhinestone Eyes, Stylo, Empire Ants, On Melancholy Hill, The second half of Sweepstakes, Pirates Progress Some Kind of Nature

Good Songs: Superfast Jelleyfish, Broken, To Binge, Cloud of Unknowing, Pirate jet

Bad Songs: Glitter Freeze, Welcome to Plastic Beach, White Flag

overall it's an A-. The problem is that it dosen't feel as cohesive as Demon Days, what with it being half the remanants of Carousel and half new, and it's not as inventive. however it was most certainly worth the 5 years, and outside of Snoop Dog, the rapping is top notch. Mos Def fucking owns this album.

At first i was a bit dissapointed. What's up with all these feats? Why so little Albarn on the tracks? WHERE AM MY NEW KILLER DISCOHIT?

But after listening to it again properly, like i guess you're supposed to do, i actually enjoyed it.. a lot.
It's so chill, the songs are pretty catchy and i seriously love some of the guest perfomances, Empire Ants, Some Kind of Nature, Cloud of Unknowing etc. The calm songs are the best of the album in my opinion, so chill and relaxing.
Really liked 'Iron Jet' too. Nice choice for last song.

The intro on 'White Flag' was great, then the rap happened...

I don't really know what that means...?

I felt the same way about the Act II; musically I fucking loved it (except for THERRRRE WIIIIILL BEEEEE LIGHT amirite) but I just couldn't bring myself to care about Emily and Joe and everyone's problems. Just felt more like a romantic drama than the sci-fi badassery the first album was.

Also Light Up The Night is the first song to make me cry in years. Shuddup :<
