Previous Thread: >>6464It was so close to autosage, I figured I'd just up and make a new thread.{OH SHIT SON, YOU BETTER BELIEVE WE'RE BACK AND READY TO ROCK. WHERE WE LAST LEFT OUR INTREPID HEROINE, SHE'D JUST WON THE COBBLE BADGE AND THE RESPECT OF MAYLENE AFTER A HEATED BATTLE. UNFORTUNATELY, ANY CELEBRATIONS TO BE HAD WERE CUT SHORT BY TEAM GALACTIC BEING A BUNCH OF ASSHOLES AND TAKING LUCAS' POKEDEX. WHAT DO THEY WANT WITH IT? WILL THEY GET IT BACK? WILL ROWAN FIND OUT ABOUT THIS AND MOCK THEM ENDLESSLY?FIND OUT TONIGHT WHEN WE PLAY MORE POKEMON PLATINUM!}I seriously cannot believe those jerks...
Kazza: Apparently, she brought me back in because...?Roy: Because let's be honest, until we get that Dawn Stone, Bel's sort of useless.PLACEHOLD: KAZZA! MY OLD FRIEND!Oh hey, there they are...
GET ZEUS BACK OUT, TEACH HIM THUNDERIf Lucas has a Clefairy, it WILL use Gravity non-stop, meaning Thunder will become 100% accurate. Fire Blast, as well.
"These are the guys who took my pokedex from me, Fi."Galactic Asshole: "Oh hey, look, you fixed your nose. I liked it the other way.">:|
Galactic Asshole Numero 2: "We could break her nose, too! Then you'd match!"I-I'd like to see you try, you wannabe redshirt...
Roy: ...Pfffhahaha a clefairy? Really? That's the badass pokemon that's gonna get your pokedex back?
Roy: Well, if that's what he's gonna go with, I guess that I means I gotta do all the work AGAIN.Raven: You? Man, who just took out an entire gym?
>>7674FUCK YOU, ROY.
Roy: ... Oh."Haha... Yeah, see, this is why I use a clefairy."G-good job, Roy.Roy: Can it, boss.
L-Lucas, no offense, but... uh... You must be... really, really annoying to fight. All this status effect stuff and all."Heh... Yeah, I hear that a lot."
>>7678Not like you have a Ground-move to use anyway, which is too bad, since he's weak to them now.
"On the other hand, you are surprisingly straight forward when you fight."I-I just want it to over and quick, that's all... Plus, my whole team has a sort of creepy love of really kicking the crap out of our opponents...:Cue a Roy and Raven high five:
And one super effective Metronome'd Confusion later...Kimba: Say it, Roy.Roy: Auuuugh... fine, the little pink fluffball is sort of cool.Clefairy: :D
>>7682Whoo~
"Thank you very much."PLACEHOLD: Fiona-sensei? May I?... ... yeah, sure, why not./KER'FACE-PUNCHGalactic Asshole: OW GOD MY NOSE
Make sure you grab Fly from the warehouse before departing, it's VERY IMPORTANT.
Galactic Asshole Numero 2: "It's not like it even matters--"Galactic Asshole: "The hell it doesn't! They broke my nose!"Galactic Asshole Numero 2: "--The point is, the stuff in the Warehouses have already been moved to Pastoria City anyways. We don't even need to stay here any more."Th-thanks for telling me where you're gonna be next.
U-uh, it's cool, really. I mean, I'm a chicken, but I'm not gonna let them get away with something like that. You're... my friend. And stuff. It's kinda... what friends do, right?PLACEHOLD: ;~; It is so moving what the power of friendship may accomplish...Roy: And a well-placed firepunch to the nuts.
A... little late to be of any actual help, Looker. But nice effort.
Yeah, no, I keep running into him. I'm just sorta... accepting my fate as a weirdness magnet. It's not so terrible once you get used to it...Looker: "Weirdo? I have come to your aid and I am repaid with insults? How very uncouth of y--and what in the earth happened to your face?"
Lucas: "Er... sorry for, you know, calling you weird and stuff, man. I'm, uh, gonna go lay down now, okay?"Y-yeah, you probably should do that... Maybe get the Nurse at the pokecenter to look at your face and stuff...Lucas: "And tell MORE people I got the snot beat out of me by two idiots in space suits? Haha, no thanks, I'll take the scars. Later, Fi. Uh... watch out for Team Galactic. Obviously."
>>7691Scars are very MANLY.
"Hm, yes, this is suspicious indeed. Taking what does not belong to them, and from children... I had the belief that Galactic was a real threat, but they appear to just be petty crooks."Skittles: They do proper thieves a disservice with their own ineptitude.Kimba: The hell are you talking about? You're just a klepto, not some master thief.
>>7692MANLY MAN
"But... perhaps it is the pettiness of their crimes that makes them so sinister."...that doesn't make any... nevermind. You know what? Yes. They're so juvenile in their criminality that they're pure evil."HAHA! See! You are following the line my thoughts make. I always knew you had intelligence!"Thaaat's me.
W-wait, hold up, but they just said they cleared it out and you're probably not even listening to me are you?
Kazza: For a bunch of ruffians in bad costumes, they're awfully efficient at clearing out of a place.
...wow. And right after I got the badge to let me USE Fly out side of combat... That's... awfully convenient.
>>7699Very useful!
"You must go on ahead and be careful along your journey, Fiona. I shall stay here and investigate this place more in the name of..."PLACEHOLD: JUSTICE!"Indeed."Roy: ...Wow, buddy, why don't you just ask for his autograph.PLACEHOLD: I am saving that for when I encounter Crasher Wake.
All right. One more HM for the bag, but at least this one isn't... you know... horribly crippling...Roy: Lucky bastard.
>>7701Would've been more useful before Maylene.
Great. So every time I turn around, I'm getting wrapped up in whatever insane thing Galactic is planning. Not only that, they are apparently in the business of causing actual bodily harm instead of just being inept.Raven: ... At least we got Fly! :D...mmmmph. My life is a mess...
Speaking of Fly... What's the verdict? What do we get rid of?
>>7706>Great. So every time I turn around, I'm getting wrapped up in whatever insane thingWELCOME TO THE LIFE OF A POKEMON PROTAGONIST
>>7707Mmm... Quick attack.
>>7707I'm thinkin' Aerial Ace. Pluck is helpful for snatching berries from trainers.
>>7707I say get rid of Quick Attack, Raven's probably going to hit first every turn anyways.
>>7710(When in doubt, listen to Bo-- >>7711 HAHA you would say that the minute I selected Aerial Ace. OH WELLS.)Raven: Y'know, me learnin' this doesn't make much sense... can already fly and all...
Oh yeah! That reminded me! Two more TMs I want to get taken care of before we head out to Pastoria. Fire Blast for Roy and Drain Punch for PLACEHOLD.>So what does Roy get to lose?(Boy it's gonna be nice when we meet the Move Remover Dude or whatever his name is)
We really didn't need three Flying-type attacks anyway, and Quick Attack's high priority can be helpful for picking off stragglers.
>>7714...Significantly harder. Nasty Plot would make Fire Blast hit harder, but I wouldn't want to be limited in moves like that...Flame Wheel has reliable accuracy and PP.Decisions, decisions...
>>7716(Maybe we should hold off on Fire Blast until I can get Cut removed then?)
>>7717Makes sense. The next Gym is a Water-type one anyway, it can wait. The Move Deleter lives in the same town as Byron, so we can give him Fire Blast before we really need it.
...Wait. Hold on. So Roy isn't learning Fire Blast yet and... this is stupid. KAZZA can learn Drain Punch but PLACEHOLD can't.Kazza: ...what?PLACEHOLD: wat. D:
>>7714CU--oh.
>>7719PLACEHOLD's special attack is abysmal, anyways, it would very weak if he used it.
>>7719I am confuse
>>7722Drain Punch is a physical move, actually.
>>7724Oh, then wait til he's a Machoke, he can learn it then, I think.
Okay. Whatever. Stupid finnicky TMs... Let's just get to Pastoria, all right? I'm pretty sure there's not much else to do in Veilstone...
>>7729...Actually, I think someone in one of the houses will give you a Porygon, if you go talk to him.
>>7727...Huh. The entire Machop line can't learn Drain Punch at all, apparently.
>>7730DO IT, PORYGON IS ONE SMOOTH MOTHERFUCKER
Of course, we have no way to actually evolve a Porygon...
D: AAAAAAAWHAT'S BEHIND ME!?
"Hahahaha! Nothing! I was just trying to spook you and it totally worked and AAAAAA DON'T LIGHT MY CHINGLING ON FIRE D:">:T
>>7733GTS, my dear Bones! You can get onto the GTS using the ROM, simply pick an obscure location and trade with a friend.
I-I seriously hate Aftermath so much. I mean, it didn't do much to Kimba, but it's just annoying and cheap... Like all stupid ghost types...
...man, poor Belphegor... he looked so sad when I had to put him in the Box...Kimba: Boss, I am pretty sure he was just sad because he couldn't fuck up those Galactics' day.
>>7736I didn't think you could get onto the GTS without WiFi access.
S-stupid psychics... trying to scare me like that... Oh hey, what's this do?
>>7740Can on a ROM, apparently. When I played Platinum I used that to evolve my Haunter.
Oh great. Explorer types... Guess that means...
Rrrrrrgh... Hate Confuse Ray. Hate it so much.
>>7742Oh, then in that case, we need to get Kazza to Jubilife immediately.
B-but seriously. Someone needs to explain to me why my fighting type pokemon can't learn a stupid fighting type TM...
>>7748Game Freak was retardedly selective about who could learn Drain Punch.
OH! On the bright side, PLACEHOLD leveled up and got a new attack! S-so it's not ALL bad! What should we get rid of?
>>7750I wanna say Seismic Toss, but I know I'll be the only one to say that.
>>7751Ehh, I agree with you somewhat. Either that or Focus Energy.
>>7751No, I think you're right.Though it does hurt to get rid of Primary Lotus, Vital Toss is much more powerful and never misses.
>>7753*Vital Throw.
>>7752>>7751Seismic Toss is it, then. A lot of enemies seem to get the first attack on PLACEHOLD anyways...
>>7751It's been awhile, but doesn't Seismic toss just do damage equal to your level? Drop that shit like it's hot.
Trainers, trainers everywhere... There's even a whole other row of them that I bypassed--Roy: And I'm gonna make you go fight 'em!...You would...
>>7756Yeah, it's really only useful on Pokemon with low attacking stats. And not until you make it to a high level anyway.
>PORYGON traced PLACEHOLD'S Guts!...officially the strangest battle message I have ever received.
>>7757It's in your best interest. Making sure you've hit up every trainer in the game is great EXP and cash, and the best way to fill up the Pokedex.
>>7759>Gardevoir Traced Gyarados' Intimidate!
Ooooooooh... it's a puppy!
>>7762If you catch one, name it Chaka.:3
D: And it totally Roared me out of battle!
>>77643:
So... what exactly do these things DO? Other than take up space in my bag, I mean...
>>7764;~;
>>7766You can trade them to Move Tutors to teach your Pokemon rare moves. But you'll need a lot of them usually.
>>7768Not too mention you'll need to go underground if you expect to teach yourself more than three moves.
More battle items we're never gonna use...
D: Oh my god it's gonna run me over AAAAA
>>7771CATCH IT
>>7770Big Root's terrifically useful if you have any grass types, but seeing as how you don't. D:
O-okay... Might as well try to get it anyways... Never even seen one of these things before.>FIONA HELD DOWN + B!
Score! One more pokemon for the box!>Nicknames!
>>7775Hmmm...Elaine Benes?
>>7775Henrietta!
>>7777Aaand into the Box Henrietta goes!
W-wait, what? But... if you do that, then you just have to go back to the Pokecenter and...Kazza: Why do you continue to try to make sense of other trainers? It never works.I know, but still... that's just...
>>7779Maybe he has them traded and doesn't have the right badges to keep them in line?
Skittles: Well, would you look at that. Isn't it nice that I look so much better groomed?
