I just realized that Robin has probably one of the most ill-suited devil's fruit powers.

Now don't get me wrong, Robin is awesome and she uses her fruit powers very well, but the fact that a lady with tiny little limbs ate a fruit entirely dependent on arm strength kind of sucks.

I get the feeling that for a given amount of training you can only improve you strength and skill by some total amount, so if Robin spent more time improving her physical strength her basic attacks would be more powerful but she couldn't have developed any of the more complicated ones or even used that strength as effectively.

It's like how most magic classes in RPGs can blow up mountains but might get killed by a particularly pointy stick blow by a stiff breeze. There's usually some balance to the things.

She relies on locks/holds to disable opponents, which are more reliant on leverage than strength. With enough training you can lock just about anyone, of any strength in a particular hold.

This is why martial arts like hapkido and jujitsu are so popular. Robin can spawn more than four arms. She's pretty much a master jujitsu practitioner on steroids. That's not even all she can do.
