Yeah, except when people sage your request and tell you to fuck off and artists refuse to draw it because it involves a character that gets spammed a lot or something. I guess those people aren't allowed in on 'good fun'.

Then request something else. No one can "sage" your request, they can only really ignore it. Which happens. It's not like you can tell the drawthreads what to do. They're there to hear suggestions and see what they like. Complaining that your suggestion is getting ignored only makes people REALLY not want to do it. And when they don't want to do it, it won't get done.

Sure, other people in a thread might be rude assholes, but so what? You put the suggestion out there and you let it sit. If no one takes it, oh well. Maybe another time. If someone takes it, awesome. Considering the sheer amount of requests and how complicated that can be, that's actually fairly rare for a suggestion to get picked up. It's all chances: chances of your suggestion getting picked out of dozens, and chances of artists' interests. After all, if the artist isn't interested in an image, they really have no reason to do it. And I know a thing or two about how drawings come out when there's no interest in it.

Maybe you're looking at drawthreads the wrong way. Maybe you're looking at them the way people who commission specific artists to draw something, like at a Con or something. You put your name on the list and come back later, expecting your commission to be done. You find the commission not done at all, instead having other drawings fully finished. At least, that's how the behavior seems. But... The dynamic is completely different. It's more like an improv show. The artist asks for a name, place, and action, and they pick out of the crowd whichever one they hear or sounds most interesting. "Reagan dueling Carver in a Funhouse" is a lot more interesting than "two guys sitting on a couch in an apartment," for instance. Y'know how many times I go to shows where they try to get audience participation? I have NEVER been able to get my idea up. I never get picked. But you know what? That's not part of the game. It's not about being picked. It's about seeing what kind of crazy shit the performer will do with the ideas or tools given. That's what drawthreads are. Or, rather, what they're supposed to be.

But they've devolved into... well, people getting butthurt over their "requests" getting ignored. They're supposed to be fun. The only thing holding you back in having fun in them is you. If you can't roll with the punches and throw out a different idea or just try the same idea at a different time, and just complain and try to ruin it for other people, then the game loses its fun. It just gets stupid.

When an invisible hand guides the drawthreads and pretty much puts a boycott on certain ideas or characters or something, then that leaves other people out. When artists say "Sorry, I promised not to draw that character anymore because the sagers/spammers/trolls/aliens/whatever" to requests they would normally draw (which I've seen plenty of times before) then that's not giving people an equal chance). All I'm saying is if that's going to go on, people really shouldn't be surprised when those that get screwed over decide to play the same game.

As I've said, there's things that drive people to draw. Looks awesome. Only thing is that the reflected light on the outer edge of the left leg looks a little off, I think if you change it to be a little closer to the colour of the shadow it'll look better.

More like the reference picture I was drawing from was a bit more diluted, but even with that change in hues, there are many things off. I'd like to blame my laptop, but ultimately, I have to learn to pick the right colors from it.

Here yah go. the frontal view isn't symmetrical, so pick a side to model it. Also the feet were viewed as fully flat, so you'll have to mess with that as well.
