I was having a really hard time picking a winner for last week, despite how few entries there were, the few we did see were actually very good, and had excellent suggestions. I liked DUHRR's idea of extending this Art Jam into 2-week intervals, since it gives people more time to post and such. So... Extension, When Dinosaurs ruled the Earth is still the theme. If anyone who participated already wants to make a revised entry, I'll allow it.
sorry about the shit quality of my last submission hopefully this one is a bit betterif i have the balls to color this i'll delete this oneView animation
oh and uh, next week is Team Fortress 2
JUDGMENT DAY.
Thought I might set up shop here.Post the stuff I've been doodling.
Short bodies are short....and it seemed like a good idea at the time.
I DESPISE how this one came out though...
So I noticed that we were lacking a "Hey, let's draw our Roleplay characters" thread (or I was too lazy to look for it), so let's try this again. This is my Dark Hersey character that I'm playing as in Beard's DH game on Skype. He's actually one of the first Roleplaying characters I made that wasn't a DnD or WOD character. I made him through Sup/tg/'s character generator. he was random for the most part, and I got him in the first try. Originally he was just "Pym" since he was just used for a one-shot game that Sage did (where-in I indirectly made Luke's character kill himself, accidentally, of course). I then used him for another game where he and Grad's character burned down a school where they were teaching kids magic. Anyway, I didn't really give him a back story, as I wasn't familiar with the Warhammer's background. Beard has helped me flesh out this character a great deal since then, hence why I've only recently drew him.The reason for the name change came about because Beard didn't want me to use him as "pym", so I just used a name for a character that was originally a sort of Piccolo (From Dragon Ball/early Dragon Ball Z, when he was a bad ass)/Lobo/Bugs Bunny character I had thought up. I never went anywhere with that, and was disheartened when Iredeemable came out, because the Plutonian's arch-nemesis was called Modeus. Mark Waid apparently also likes grabbing names from Jewish demons. So anyway, Badd Modeus is a Scum from Iocanthos, where he was born amongst one of the nomadic tribes in the badlands, before, like so many, he moved to Port Suffering. Due to an undisclosed incident, he is now indentured to serve the Emperor as an Acolyte under an Inquisitor. To date, he has taken a rat-man into his charge, and affectionately named him "Ratman", Helped save some nobles from some Goblins and orks, blowing them up, and with the help of Ratman, saved a ship containing his team, said Nobles, and some Eldar. he then banged an Eldar secretary, took some corruption points, and helped save an entire space station from more Goblins and orks Message too long. >>31082They have wire hangers in 40K, right?
>>31093chain-saw wire hangers. that are on fire.
>>31140Oh, so it's more efficient.
Let's pretend a videogame was being made, loosely based on 4chan, and the very handsome and charming developer needed a lively cast of NPCs and other characters. If you were to have an appearance in this entirely hypothetical game, what would you look like and what would you say? For bonus points, name something you don't like. You know, for kicks.Pic unrelated - it's an explosion in space.
>>31118>I'd love to see a more complete picture of what you're up to Endpiece.Just sprites, to be honest.>Also, you have any love towards the wackiness over here?Fuckload of extra possibly-needless work = nooooo thank you
>>31119Heh, s'alright. I just wondered about a way to contribute indirectly.Keep up the good work as you will.
>>31116Niiiiiiiiiiice.
guys i need help spriting, its a whole lot harder than i thought it would be... would drawing the animation all large like and shrinking it down be cheating?
While I wouldn't say it's "cheating" it wouldn't look as good as something you designed pixel by pixel properly. If you wanted to do larger versions and then shrink that drawing down and use it as a REFERENCE for the sprite versions, that could help a lot.
Sky is the limit, you know what to do, it's this time again, etc.
>>31074Always awesome, Hellstorm.
Bump because you guys need to get off your asses and do shit.
So, I just want to say I like how you all pulled together and made some fantastic art last week! Good job guys. Let's get the top five out of the way. 5. Jonix makes us smouldering hot entry gives us what we wish we could all see. Giant foreheads. I don't think that last sentence made sense, but I am tired from work.4. Godless Communism makes me comes all the colors of the emotional spectrum onto his face with this entry. Again, I don't know if I'm making any sense right now, but let's keep going anyway!3. Charlie Delta did some neat stuff and made an Anime reference I didn't understand, but Tiki did. Also, Diana Ross! It was good!2. Pseudonym (Maybe?) made a really nice picture and made a really good suggestion, and I was like THIS close to picking it, but I had to give it to...1. CRUSHLING made a sexy Jonix-pire and and an awesome suggestion, and she WON!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!Which means this week's theme is... WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH Message too long. >>31014Oh you know how it is...Save earth from meteor rocks, foil the various crimes of the Lex Luthors, Jokers, Doctor Dooms etc.And you have to constantly be alert, people might need help.
Next Week: Barsoom
OH YEAH LOCKED AND JUDGING WILL COMMENCE AFTER WORK TOMORROW!
So I'm just starting to get used to using a tablet. Been doodling stuff for years, stopped for years, started again. I'm going to start doing some proper research of human anatomy. Are there any good tutorials on coloring? I've never been any good at it.
I've seen a couple of good ones on Deviantart, though most of them are on how to color like an asshole. In any case, welcome to /draw/, hope to see more of your work around.

Better 1?
I like 2's bg and bubble better, but the girl is so dark she almost blends in, which doesn't balance well at all with such a high-contrast bubble. Unless you deliberately wanted the bubble to be the focus and the girl just part of the background, otherwise I'd take the girl from 1 and paste her into 2 and see how it looks.
>>30966Haven't popped in here for a while, but I just wanted to say thank you for the advice! I will definitely give that a try!
>>31000
To start off, I really liked most of the entries, the notables being George, Jonix, Charlie, and Crushling. I am upset only eight people even care anymore, and some of you don't even give a shit about what you might have to draw next week. I get vague suggestions, and sometimes NO SUGGESTIONS AT ALL (not gonna name any names, CRUSHLING). So I decided to punish you. I do this by declaring this week's winner as...SAGE HOGE.That's right, possible the worst, as in a baby could do better, drawing ever to grace our board. And with his horrific suggestion. This week's theme is TWILIGHT. Basically, we'll be drawing things like:- Sparkling Vampires- Sparkling Werewolves- Sparkling Velociraptors - Sparkling Diana Ross Message too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>30902Just this once, I'll allow it, since I forgot to lock the thread last night, and left for work when I got up. so, you guys gotta wait untill I get home so I can judge the thread.
JUDGING BEGINS.
... NOW.
Hey /draw/,I'm looking for a wee bit of advice for this piece here.Don't mind the halfassery, it's merely the rough.Anyways, I'm trying to draw the cape for this but, I realized, I'm no good with cloth.I'm trying to draw the cape as if he were walking just now and flowing slightly behind him.I've only outlined where it should be for now.I was hoping you guys could help by pointing me in the direction of some decent tutorials and/or resources for this kinda thing, as well as letting me know how you do it.Thank you in advance.
>>3084740K? Yes.Anime? Whoa back up there.
>>30850THATS NOT WHAT YOUR IMAGES IMPLY
>>30851>IMPLYING THEY IMPLY ANYTHING
Fellow Paint Tool Sai users. I've scrounged the internet looking for custom brushes and the like, and the startSAI program has been pretty nifty for installing them. But I've been wondering, what custom add-ons do you have? Are there layer effects besides fringe? Are there any filters besides Hue/Brightness that are available?
Didn't know there was something like that, but I'm not surprised. That being said, I use the base version.
I haven't installed any, either. I mostly use Sai for sketching and, if I'm not inking manually, inking. I haven't used it as much for painting....is there a lot you can do with these custom brushes?
>>30852You can emulate certain textures. There's a tutorial on Deviantart somewhere where it shows you how to emulate pencil lead.
