I hijacked into one of their World of Darkness games about a year ago, but that was because I'm a WoDfaggot and really really wanted to play a Promethean. Usually they stick with D&D or do something more exotic like Call of Cthulhu. Or Mutants and Masterminds. You could easily get in touch with'em over Skype. Even if they're loaded up with players for games sometimes, they're absurdly active.

Well, I finally found a way, though it only works for getting things warm and not cooking (which Toady is only planning right now): stand next to a fire while holding a container and check the temperature to make sure it is warm or hot, then just wait a while until the ice melts.

I think its more a result of the hightened complexity of games, and the fact that they're not Quarter Farms in most cases. Thats why you couldn't 'save' in arcade Pac Man. But if you're just trying to complete something, or figure something out? Saves prevent fustration.

I can't think of how it's really used in a bad way. But I can't really think of a game that has it built in and doing so would be considered cheating.

I can think of only one example: The last piece of evidence used against Godot. Because the result looks like a game over and the dialogue is exactly the same for a good long time, meaning you've probably missed it twice because after awhile you just went "Fuck it, I don't need to reach the game over screen to see how this ends."

Most of the time I only see really horrible/bad sellers sit on some stores shelves for years and stubbornly clinging to the same price they paid for it, like Alpha Protocol at $60 in certain retail stories.

I just marathoned the whole thing over the last week to see what the big deal was. I feel kind of stupid for having missed it all these years.

I am going to miss Wash and Doc's banter when the former's gone or killed. That was one of the best things this season.

So Revelations has ended on a fairly bittersweet note. I'm a little pissed that they kind of forgave Washington so easily, but the gang has never been dedicated enough to hold grudges. I wonder, though, if they're going to completely switch to Halo: Reach in the new season or if they're gonna alternate to indicate the memory world and the real world.
