In fact, Vriska's displayed this several times by being flippant and casual about past events anyone else would harbor a grudge over or at least keep in mind for cautious reasons. Right now, she can't fulfill her baser needs by herself and everyone else keeps her arms' length in some manner for their own reasons. Feelings of betrayal, contempt, fear, encouraging her self destructive nature, or even misguidedly trying to help her... Kanaya's way of trying to coach her reminds me a lot of pet guardians who can't properly train them. They try to reason with them like a peer when the state of mind they're dealing with is too bestial to respond unless it's to dig in their heels and stand their ground; they see it as a (weak) attempt to impose dominance over them. It's a double edged sword, really. To bring out Vriska's higher qualities would actually go very quickly with the right approach but no one knows how or are too fearful to try. I don't think Aradia did that consciously in any way. It's possible that even if she retain her personality while she was a ghost (I don't think she did) she didn't know it would cause his death necessarily, just that it was necessary for the game to play out.
