Do you think they'd be bold enough to air Funimation's One Piece?

No.

It would take a while under these circumstances if it where to happen.

At one episode a week, they could catch up to Fishman Island in what, ten years?

About that, yea.

Unless we scrap all filler.

Its only once a week?

Toonami where? On Adult Swim? All they're doing is swapping out two shows on their regular Saturday block; I'd hardly call that any sort of sweeping revolution or even a change. Funimation is dubbing at crippled slug pace, and they're not going to do subtitles on TV because reading is fur gay peepul, apparently.

I'm also extremely skeptical about this surviving at all. As long as Adult Swim is playing its Family Guy, American Dad and Robot Chicken reruns, everything is fine and they don't need to lift a finger. Anime doesn't even start playing ON THE ONE DAY THEY HAVE IT until after midnight. They do nothing to advertise it themselves and it's no big secret they hold it and its audience in contempt.

Nah.

But you know, if they ever make a P4 the Animation dub, I know where I'd want it to air weekly.

They really ought to make it mandatory for voice actors to watch the scene in japanese before they dub it

What the hell are you complaining about? The Funimation dub is actually really good.

If we're talking about them getting the tone, maybe, but I feel like the downside to that is that you'd then get dub actors trying to hard to capture the original version.

I miss Luffy being WAY too excited about Balls.

Are you guys never satisfied?

Actually, I'm pretty damn satisfied with what I've watched in terms of the FUNI dub (and I'm pretty fond of good dubs in general). I'm just saying that I'd rather have the VAs come in and do the characters their way. Having them watch the original version is pretty much telling them to match that. That's not what they should be doing; they should just concentrate on playing the role while the director helps them to get that delivery just right.
