I know. Khan was an Indian played by a Mexican. But I guess they factored in way-too-easily upset people and/or racist dumbasses who think all brown people are identical or some stupid shit.

Come to think of it, everyone's ethnicity is sorta wonky in Star Trek. Scotty was either a Brit or a Canadian playing a Scotsman. Chekhov wasn't Russian in the original, and is Russian-but-spent-his-whole-life-in-America. Original Khan was a Mexican playing an Indian. Uhura went from African-American to Puerto Rican. Picard was a Brit playing a Frenchman but didn't use an accent.
>> No. 37266
>>37262
But considering how Western Europeans are pretty ethnically similar it's a lot more egregious to have a Mexican playing an Indian considering they're even less similar genetically, and the only thing they have in common is that they're brown. Not that I think there are terrorist implications, but the scope is quite different.

I guess so. But its not like most people arguing against the fact factor that in.

Orell was fucking awesome in the books.

Not really a spoiler for show watchers, but He was one of the dudes the Night's Watch killed when they caught Ygritte. He warged into his bird and spent the next two books attacking Jon Snow at random.

The scene where Ygritte was all "You know nothing- JON SNOW!!!!!" and the bird attacks Jon out of nowhere had me like

Oh well. I have to say, ten years ago I'd never believe they'd make an Iron Man movie, let alone that it would launch a universe. It's had its ups and downs and as a fan of the Avengers in general, I'm happy. Plus the movie was at least ok, could have better, but its not the worst thing to happen to the character. That honor would have to go to The Crossing.

So favorite armor?

<My favorite. The artbook stated Thumper was supposed to represent Tony's hard as nails, craftsman side.

>Hammer was a joke.
It's not just that he was a joke, it was a joke they repeated over and over, as if they were afraid someone wouldn't get it. That's a fair analogy for the whole movie, actually.

See, when you say "Cosmic Entities" or "Space Gods", one can tell they're big shit. You know there's stuff out there beyond human understanding.

When you say "Space Gods who created mankind, also the only reason why there are mutants is why they programmed it to happen", that kinda kills the mystery a bit, messes up the concept of genetic mutation and also removes the chances that things "just happened". Might be a pet peeve of mine, because I simply don't like the concept. Kinda like with Thor, the whole movie could have gone without the "lol our magic is just SCIENCE! way beyond your understanding" and it wouldn't lose anything.

Well damn it's Prometheus all over again.

We do see Eight very briefly, he runs past her towards the end of the episode when she's in the mist.

It's not exactly the same, but it does look incredibly similar to his newer costume. I would pay ten trillion diamonds to Moffat if he turns out to be an old Eight, especially if McGann gets to actually make an appearance.

TL;DR: Not very well versed in horror. Would like to be. Suggest some stuff. Don't just limit it to TV and film, anime/manga and cartoons are cool, too.

Things I've seen:
* Both Hellboy movies (Dunno if these count, but I like them)
* That movie with Patrick Wilson and the guy who sang Tiny Tim (Disliked this, but I can't hate Patrick Wilson)
* The Shining (Only part of it, I need to see the rest)
* Zombieland (Loved it)
* Shaun of The Dead (Loved it too)
* It (First time I was genuinely a little unnerved by horror, but not for the reasons I think it was supposed to be scary)
* Scary Movie 1 and 2 (I dunno if this counts either, first is decent, second is cringe-worthy)

Other things I've played/read that I liked:
* Junji Ito's Tomie (and one other story of his I'm blanking on the name of)
* Higurashi: When They Cry (only the first two question arcs, I need to read the rest of the manga)
* Killing Floor

Fair warning: if you watch David Cronenberg's remake of The Fly you will probably spend a good portion of the movie crying. I watched it once about five years ago, and ever since I can't look at a screenshot without getting a sick feeling deep in my gut. It's a great film, but you probably won't want to watch it more than once.

Explain. That last bit with the maimed Brundle-Fly silently begging to be put out of his misery was indeed gut wrenching and gives me all sorts of feels, yeah, but the rest?

>Say my name!

This show is really like nothing I've seen before. I've never seen a man go from hero to villain like that. I don't agree with what he does, but I understand, it makes sense for once.
