I have nothing to contribute, but still.
I don't get it. What is this, aside from an RPGmaker game (and therefore potentially terrible)?
Don't be so quick to stick your nose in the air, looks kinda interesting
Was /tg/ involved in creating this?
Found it on x-arielle's tumblr and there's threads on /u/.
I need a map or something to get all the endings.
I hate you so much now
Wish the keyboard controls could be changed.
funny lolmemes then loltweesty ending, yeah maybe there might be
That is entirely more entertaining and time consuming than it deserves to be
Why are people who write yuri so obsessed with rape?
Yeah, 'cause smutty writers don't do it anywhere else.
PIXEL PERFECT JUMPS
why won't they leave me beeeeeeeee
All of Our Friends Are Dead
he also made a crude fps called "the hunt"
This thread deserves to live.
And so it shall.
You are a good person
isnt its "creative mode" free
I'm pretty sure creative mode got removed. Which is a shame, because that's all alot of people did.
Are there any /x/-themed ones?
All Of Our Friends Are Dead, The White Chamber, Chzo and Eversion are the only ones that stand out after a quick glance over the list.
I just started playing Wesnoth, and it's pretty fun, the spritework is nice.
but BAH GAWD the elf wank, you can tell anyone who had a hand in writing thier unit descriptions had the other one down thier pants.
They even snuck it into the best human archer unit's bio
>>yeah I gues these guys are pretty good BUT WHAT ABOUT THOSE ELVES HUH? THEY KICK ASS!
wesnoths all-or-nothing battle mechanics tended to turn me off, and it straddled the line between rpg and strategy game uncomfortably, but its been a long time since i played it, so maybe theyve refined it
Here you go.
That list is like one giant nostalgia bomb of all the games I forgot I'd ever played.
I mean fuck, they even have Torus Trooper.
Which has mechs
iji has some mech type enemies i guess
Does /v/ like freeware made in RPG Maker besides Yume Nikki? Most of it is shit-on-a-stick, but there's some surprisingly good stuff on the site.
The phrase RPG Maker will turn some people away but the biggest problem is finding the gems amid all the shit. And there's a lot of shit to wade through.
RPG Maker, like Flash, is not the problem. It's that it all but removes the barrier for entry, meaning that the floodgates for crap are wide open. Good stuff can and has been made with the product.
The difference is, NG gets great flash games every week, and it has a ratings system. RPG Maker is much simpler than flash (Even a little kid could make a decent game with it) and thus only has threads on forums advertising their shitty, sometimes non-shitty games, with only a few comments from other kids saying "looks cool".
Ah, 'Tales of the Drunken Paladin'
I was actually enjoying that one, but then whenever I tried to drag a boulder out of my path in the swamp area it made the game crash, couldn't get any farther.
Was a shame, I might download it again if it gets fixed or at least I find out how to avoid it.
Basically, a flash-based real-time strategy game...
...made by the Royal Australian Air Force.
Quite good, actually.
/v/'s current flavor of the month. I'm addicted as can be.
Essentially a rocket simulator.
Excellent mod pack for more rocket parts: http://filesmelt.com/dl/Sunday_Punchs_KSP_parts_v1_04.zip
Behold: THE SKY PALACE.
vanilla is the way to go, I got this baby up to 3km/s
>AND ITS GONNA BE A LONG LONG TIME.jpg
Has anyone here played the Streets of Rage Remake?
If so can you share your thoughts on it please.
Not bad, though you have to play through it several times just to rack up points to unlock stuff
It's a great game, the only bad thing about it is that marysue ninjabitch they added in, everything about her is teenage fanfic-tier.
Podunkian, finish your fucking games before making some awesome new ones !
Welp I have no idea what this is beside it apparently being a freeware rpg called Elona. As I've literally just found it by accident, I thought I might as well post it on here for anybody interested. Pretty sure it hasn't been put on here yet.
In the first post, bro.
Also, in further news, the man working on Elona has stopped working on it, and any further work on it will be entirely done by fans.
zombie Apocalypse rogue-like with barricade building, a focus on actual survival (with the almost constant look of safety and food) and a damned difficult way of challenging the player. With a recent addition NPC's can go crazy after being starved, so it adds another part of the difficulty in making sure you aren't surrounded by people about to go crazy. Also makes a fun game of cops and murderers.
It's free now yo
MY BODY IS READY.
I don't recall it looking that good, though.
Fun web text based adventure RPG
There's a fan forum for the game but it is fairly dead at the moment. Maybe a fresh influx of posters could upgrade it to shuffling Un-dead.
the best god damn 2d ride around game ever, now with explorer guy, irresponsible dad is still gest though, I WILL SUPLEX MY SON INTO THIS HARPOON!
Outpost 1, and its sequel, Outpost 2: Divided Destiny
OP1 is entirely single player, and is basically sim city IN SPACE.
OP2 also has city building and management, but with a side of RTS gameplay. A campaign that has a storyline (not very different between either faction unfortunetly) a very sparse single player scenario list of a population/spacecraft goal for either faction, and a multiplayer mode that's basically been non-existent since the late 90s due to sierra shutting down the WON servers -- but you can still play multiplayer by using programs that simulate a LAN over the internet... Its a nice little time waster, but don't expect it to blow your mind.
Note about Outpost 2 with the veteran community:
Everyone that still plays is a pro who WILL curb stomp you, and possibly even force NO-FUN-ALLOWED game rules like 'no rushing' time limits and such. Do not expect to encounter a multiplayer match that plays out like DEFCON does.
oh my fuck i think i remember that game. that game, like fallout, was on a demo CD i got back in the 90's
and i couldn't figure out how to play either
Free release by the original creators
If I recall correct this is all you need (beyond DOSBox) to get it running.
Not freeware but I heard it was kind of cult and rare, and I managed to find it : Toonstruck
FTP cause it's pretty big
If you like Ponit n Clicks, cartoons and Christoffer Lioyde(how do you spell it?) DOWNLOAD THIS NOW FUCKER! NO, NOT LATER, RIGHT NOW! DO IT! DO IT NOW~
Team Fortress Arcade
Dino Run SE is free for the next couple of days.
Bullet Hell meets MMORPG with permadeath.
Warning: insanely addictive.
That map is disorienting as all hell.
It really is. I have no idea why it's skewed like that.
This might be of interest.
Equal parts shooting and piledriving.
Man, it's going to take some time to go through all that.
I don't know what it is exactly, probably just me being cheap, but I've gotten disillusioned with commercial games considering how engrossing freeware games can be.
Hah, oh man, I was just about to post that one.
The controls take some time getting used to and I still can't beat three levels on War Queen, but it's damn awesome anyway.
Nitronic Rush is what happens when Trackmania and Tron have a baby and then weld five high-powered rocket engines to that baby. And the godfather is an incredibly cheesy commentator. Oh, and there's sawblades and shit.
It's fucking awesome is what I'm saying. Check it out.
Deity's a student game sort of like a super-redux version of Arkham Asylum's gargoyle swinging and thug incapacitating from a not-quite-isometric perspective instead of over the shoulder. Pretty short but it's a good length for the content it has.
You are such a gigantic fucking faggot.
I'm surprised the first two Elder Scrolls games aren't on this list. They became free a while back.
And are a pain in the balls to get running.
Here's a good list.
SCP has a game now?!
not so much a game as a "See how long you can go before you panic and close it" marathon, based on 087 (which is possibly one of the creepiest things on the site.)
I played for about 30 seconds before I NOPE'd so hard it crashed the computer
also, procedurally generated floors, so every playthrough is different (but mind shittingly terrifying)
Well that was underwhelming. It was basically just Dark Stairwell: The Game. The most emotional inducing thing in the game was the tank like controls.
the whole point of the game is to imitate SCP-087 (http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-087) which is, surprinsingly, a dark stairwell. Though it seems you stopped before any of the real terror becomes relevant. I won't lie though it's a very bland game, and is pretty much "Dark Stairwell, the game". I wish we would see more SCP games, because the idea itself would be very easy to execute for almost every object, as well as simple. Imagine a game where you got to explore 093, or dealing with a containment breach of 76-2 or 862. Though any game containing SCP should not have a winning goal, instead only the goal to "Survive as long as possible"
On to the topic of free games though, vertigo is pretty entertaining, it's a rock climbing game based entirely on ragdoll physics and moving each limb, it's pretty fun even if it's still a WIP.
You have no appreciation for subtle horror.
Elevator: Source - Fast Paced …
do you want to experience realistic video game elevators in a high paced chaotic environment WITH YOUR PEERS? Sure you do, with over 20 levels of intense elevator action, and many more with the games custom maps! Best of all it's FREE (with ownership of gmod and half life 2 episode 2)
so what are you waiting for? GET IN A GAME!
Mario Portal is out now. And I have no idea how to properly shot web. I feel stupid.
The controls feel kind of alien to me. But the same is true of every stab yourself game I've played. I've even tried playing just mario, ignoring the portal gun and it's kind of hard.
Embric of Wulfhammer's CASTLE [DELUXE]
More endings! Bugfixes! Less sunglasses?
DESTROY SUPER EAGLE
Anyone played Superfighters on Newgrounds? The guys bhind that are making a new game 'Superfighters Deluxe'.
It's only pre-alpha just now, online-multiplayer is the only current mode. Download - play.
Seem cool but it could use more people playing it.
- - -
Here's the original if you haven't played it, might even want to give that a go first before checking out the deluxe, since its complete.
► WTF Is... - I Wanna be the…
suddenly out of nowhere: Hitman: Blood Money is added to the freeware list. In your browser too, thanks for the heads up facebook.
Battlestar galactica space combat game

DCS World is the unified software for all DCS sims and it comes with a free Su-25T module for those with a need for speed. The damage model is damn impressive for those looking to see whether or not they can slalom between buildings at 400 knots and DCS has a number of how-to videos on their youtube channel if you ever feel like exploring it more in depth.
Subbania: Das Boot (Nazis in a submarine) as a shooter/explorer in Hell fighting demons. In production for 2 years by one guy, this HTML5 game has 118 levels, 25 songs, about 60 unique enemies, a 3-5 hour playtime, and can be played in Firefox and Chrome, but it works better in Chrome. You can download it for free for $5 from the Chrome store.
>You can download it for free for $5 from the Chrome store.
>for free for $5
But that's not how free works, or at the very least how gratuitous work.
I'm sorry, I mistyped.
I meant or, not for. For free, or for $5 via the Chrome store.
All this time and no one's mentioned that the first three Command & Conquer games (Command & Conquer, Red Alert, Tiberian Sun) were released as freeware a few years ago.
Since the first two are so old, they only come with a Windows XP patch, but if you looks around you can find unofficial install patches and insturctions to install them on 64-bit Windows 7.
I've been wanting to play the old LucasArts games, but I don't have a copy of any of them (being too young to have grown up on them/not having been a PC gamer until recently). I know Tim Schafer has not-so-discreetly said he's okay with people pirating them, though.
Source port of Descent 1 & 2:
I had been looking to re-play Descent for a while. It was the very first FPS I ever played.
http://www.bogozone.net/ - Lyle In Cube Sector and the rest of the site is up at a new address.
http://www.submachineworld.com/ - Submachine series
http://pastelgames.com/ Mix of games by the guy who makes Submachine and other people he works with.
www.thefreebundle.com/bundle1.php - Some site that for some reason styles itself similarly to the Humble Bundle site, but for freeware.
So I tried Yume Nikki and it seems like a really cool game, but for some reason after a few minutes of playing the screen always goes black. There are still sound effects when I move and stuff so the game is still going, I just can't see any of it.
Anyone know what the problem might be, and how to fix it?
Ever caught yourself thinking
>"You know, Canabalt is pretty addicting and all, but it's not enough of an unforgiving, sadistic cunt."
Boy, do I have the game for you.
How many of these run on GNU/Linux?
