>>169617Ready for a new thread so soon? But the final battle is just about to start!
>>209420>>209422I don't follow the Spider-Man strip regularly: Did Daredevil never move back to New York in this continuity?
>>209427Apparently he commutes between the two regularly.
I'm digging these strips. I wonder if they're is a collection of them.
How thoughtful of him to provide for his minions.
>>210067CLIFFHANGER!Gonna be a long wait.
>>210524>>210525That's nice, but, uh... why didn't he just leave them at Alcatraz? On the dry part of it?
>>210529It's easy to criticize, Anon.
>>210529That would be the easy thing to do, silly.
>>210530>>210531My bad. I forgot superheroes don't take the easy way out.
>>210533Also this is still Stan Lee writing this and he is all about the convoluted.
Plus if they had stopped to drop the scientists off, then they wouldn't get to shore at the same time as Kingpin.
>>210916>I may look obese, but I'm pure muscle!>Especially between the ears!Dat trash talking. Gotta love it.
Perhaps you should have tried the laser cane again.
>>209420Strip 4, panel 2, new reaction face.
I wonder if this is the beginning of a world tour for Spider-Man.
>>211704Just... please tell me not all of Pete's former enemies have his phone number.
Looks like someone's travelling by web hammock attached to a truck again.
>>211765With AT&T's new Friends, Family, & Former Enemies plan, he'd be a fool NOT to sign them up!
Well, he may fret about this every time he flies, but he always comes up with a different solution.
Maybe he should just ride on the outside of the plane while nobody's looking.
>>212256He'd need an out of season jacket for that, it would get pretty cold out there. Also, I'm pretty sure Spider-Man needs to breathe.
>>212169Well damn, guess I just should get with the times.
Sitting next to annoying kids in the airplane, Spider-Man's only weakness!
>>212662>How come you're not an Avenger?Stan giving a little snark because Sony still has the rights?
!
I think keeping his trip a secret was out the window when he decided to fly as Spider-Man.
This fly as Spider-Man plan has caused so many problems.
>>209422Someone please forgive me.
>>213859Sorry dude, but you're no rape dollars.
>>213859I think you should reconsider your comedic writing career plans.
>>213859Maybe a little heavy on the Andrew Dice Clay.
He sure knows how to make an entrance.
>>214484I'm slightly disappointed by the lack of firetruck-puns.
Wait, didn't he pay for the ticket?
>>215298Did Spidey just kill the chopper's pilots?
>>215364Nah, they have parachutes, they'll be okay.
>>215363Oh Jonah. Stop stealing the spotlight.
When people say Spider-Man is "pulling a Deadpool" by talking to the Fourth Wall, didn't Spider-Man (and She-Hulk) do that both way before Deadpool ever existed?
Interesting that they're playing Tarantula as a hero here... I wonder if there's any chance it will stick.
spider senses, tingling.
Is there a bomb in the safe house or what.
>>215723Rodrigo has betrayed the Tarantula to secure the release of his lady love. The safehouse is surrounded, primed for an ambush.
Oh no!
Is this the end for our heroes.
He can break those chains, that's the plan, right?
People aren't commenting much here, but I just wanted to say: Please don't stop. =)
>>216625I actually enjoy newspaper Spiderman more than regular comic Spiderman. It's like a time capsule of a simpler, nicer time in comics.
What a twist!
I think I like this Tarantula more than the regular Merry Marvel version.
>>216834Have to agree.Peter: So MJ you want the moustache on or off?Too bad.
> wearing other man's used, sweaty spandex thightsEeeeewww
>>216852FUCK YEAH!
>>216834>I think I like this Tarantula more than the regular Merry Marvel version.Well Alvarez died in the 80s in the books. I suspect he'd be a much more enjoyable character if dusted off today. As for Jacinda... I hate her. She was a bad character to begin with, but the woefully godawful stuff between her and an increasingly OOC Shang sealed the deal. Just a bloody awful character. Frankly Latina women have tended to be pretty poor over at Marvel for a while (although I confess I'm biased against the current White Tiger because Casper Cole is My Man).
>>216854>fan of ColeBROOOTHER!Yeah this new white tiger is kind of a bitch. She gave Reptil a bunch of shit for what she felt was turning his back on his latino roots. Both her and the teen Power Man are kind of lame.
>>216854Clearly there needs to be a ban on Latina women named Tarantula.Apparently it's just asking for trouble.
Reading this kinda makes me want Stan back on staff. Back to the days of retro pulp type goodness instead of event after event.
>>216870Actually I'm fine with this. It's safety tucked away from the retardation of the main universe. Now if only they released more collections. I mean they aren't as nice as other newspaper comic collections (love the Dick Tracy ones) but still. Plus we need this strip running. I'm totally gay for Spiderman.
>>216870> Reading this kinda makes me want Stan back on staffI am pretty sure that Stan hasn't written the strip in a while.
>>216883well Roy Thomas scripts what Stan comes up with according to some sources. I'm more thinking his style and attitude more than his actual presence.
>>216886I like Roy too. He has been keeping himself busy. I love his Invaders run (have the entire thing collected). I wish he had done something with Blazing Skull though. He writes novels for Marvel too. I've been meaning to pick up his Namor. This comic strip is an enjoyable alternative to the main universe Spiderman. I didn't know about for years because our paper never carried it.
Finally catching up again, good stuff.
Oh
So, that fatass just walked to that secret door, and both Spidey and Tarantula did nothing to stop him?
>>217902Well a lady did just shoot herself.
>>217904And according to that page, Gen. Fatso was quite more shocked by her death than Spidey.
>>217908Yes, but men like Gen Fatso, when they see their underlings die, have an instinctive "run like fuck" reflex that kicks in while the heroes do things like give a tiny shit about the loss of human life. When a normal person hears someone yell "DUCK!" they look to see what the commotion is. Cowards like Fatso? They duck.
>>217912I don't know, Spidey is seriously not giving a shit about her death, not even a tiny one
>>217913No no, that's what a tiny fuck given looks like. Hands on hips, staring at a corpse, going "Welp, didn't expect her to be THAT stupid" so hard that you don't notice the villain getting away.
>>217932I mean geez, everyone knows when you fire a plugged up gun it comically backfires.
Dang. If this thread isn't being updated any more, I've got some catching up to do.
Me miss a week? Never.
