>The highly anticipated return of The Legend of Korra is off to a very soft start in its first two weeks back. Both episodes have scored series lows, with the hour-long return on September 13 scoring 2.600 million total viewers. This past Friday’s new episode was even lower – with 2.191 million.

>The series’ first book aired from April to June 2012 and scored between 4.548 million for its highest during the series premiere and 2.976 million at its lowest in early June. Book one aired on Saturday mornings at 11am, while book two has relocated to Friday nights at 7pm.

>Korra isn’t alone. Nick’s other series are struggling to reach decent ratings. Last week’s new Sam & Cat scored 2.331 million viewers and newer series The Haunted Hathaways dropped to 1.896 million. Even Sanjay and Craig returned from a break to 2.378 million viewers on September 14. Korra was the 7th most watched program for the week ending September 15 on Nick – behind six SpongeBob repeats. September 21 and 22 ratings haven’t been released yet, but with Nick’s Worldwide Day of Play on Saturday, they are sure to be down even more than normal.

That's gloomy. Might Nick get paranoid and start talking cancellation before seasons 3 and 4 make it to air if they dip below 1.5 million (which could be three weeks away at this rate?)

easy its the wrong time of year and the wrong time slot. Also the numbers are still misleading since you've got alternatives to actually watching on a TV such as itunes and their own website.

>Starting October 9th, the Legend of Korra will begin airing new episodes exclusively on Nick Toons, starting with episode six, "The Sting". Even more surprisingly, another new episode, "Beginnings Part 1," is scheduled to air the very next day. This might even be troubling news for the show, which as, we reported a week ago, is in a ratings slump. This sudden move might be a result of that, though there is no confirmation from Nickelodeon.

>We also don't know if Nick will continue airing new episodes past October 10th, or if they will continue to run episodes until the show goes on hiatus (as it has done in the past with it's predecessor, Avatar: The Last Airbender). We'll update you with any more information on this developing story.

http://dongbufeng.tumblr.com/post/62643584804/you-may-be-seeing-a-post-going-around-saying-that

>You may be seeing a post going around saying that “The Sting” and “Beginnings, Part 1” will be airing on Nicktoons at 8:30 on 10/9 and 10/10. This is what is listed on the Zap2It Tv Listings. Also on the Comcast listings, repeats of Book 2 Episodes 1-5 are listed airing on Nicktoons starting on Wednesday October 2nd.

>Going by this schedule here is the current Nicktoons Korra schedule:

>Wed Oct 2nd: Episode 1 repeat
>Thurs Oct 3rd: Episode 2 repeat
>Fri Oct 4th: Episode 3 repeat
>Mon Oct 7th: Episode 4 repeat
>Tues Oct 8th: Episode 5 repeat
>Wed Oct 9th: Episode 6 new airing
>Thurs Oct 10th: Episode 7 new airing

>Then we don’t have any info after October 10th. So I guess it’s possible Nick is just going to air new Korra episodes on Nicktoons daily now after repeating the already aired episodes, but this seems unlikely:

>I asked NickandMore, who knows a lot of about Nickelodeon’s scheduling this, and they said Nick hasn’t released their October premiere info yet and that “they’ll likely have to fix” the Nicktoons airings.

>Basically, this is probably a scheduling mistake and while it should be noted that this is what the listings currently say, in all likelihood it’ll be fixed soon.

In short nothing to see folks just go on your way. Just a small dedicated bunch of vileness trying to spread their vile nonsense around.

I'll be honest, the third and fourth episode left such a serious sour taste in my mouth that I only watched episode five out of inertia. I'm glad that I did, though because that was easily the best one so far.

NickandMore goes more in depth about the latest ratings decline:

>Last Friday, Nickelodeon decided (about three days earlier) to move the series to 8:30pm on Friday. Now many fans instantly tried to tell me via Twitter that it was a good move as this was a “better timeslot” they said. Well, they obviously don’t pay attention to how things work. For the three weeks Korra aired at 7pm, it had a SpongeBob lead-in. That’s important, as SpongeBob (which is down somewhat itself) is still Nick’s top draw.

>Friday’s lead-in to Korra? Sanjay and Craig. Okay, initially you’d think that should be okay. It’s a Nicktoon? Yes. It’s a newer series? Yes, just premiered in May. However, it doesn’t have a good repeat track record. Ratings are nowhere near SpongeBob-repeat level. In fact, the whole new Friday line-up from 7-9pm was weird to look at. At 7:00 replacing Korra was Sam & Cat. That’s understandable, I guess. It’s a new show with a decent viewing for both new and repeat views (though, still not SpongeBob-level). Okay. Here’s where it gets weird. 7:30pm was… Drake & Josh. Not knocking the show at all, but that series ended over six years ago. So, then you had the aforementioned Sanjay and then was Korra. So, between the 6:30 SpongeBob episode (which by the way scored 2.3 million viewers on Friday – again, not great for that series’ normal repeat levels, but decent) you had three different series that are nowhere near Korra-compatible.

Well its not like we've not seen networks intentionally kill a show before but yea its likely just a freakout and doesn't help if anyone is actually going over to reg /co/ and seeing those idiots cheering hoping for its demise. They need to put it with a solid block not just wandering the wilderness. I mean its not like they don't have action shows and enough of them to assemble a solid block that could very well boost off each other. But looking at the schedule Nick can't schedule for shit.

It pulls good numbers if they would just let it be. Someone knows they need something because in the end if all they have is SpongeBob its going to mean their death. Hell the sponge already makes up about HALF their daily programming and buffers both ends of Nick Jr.

Something at Nick changed between Season 1 & 2. And the current agenda isn't to make LoK a hit, that's for sure.

They've been hurting since everyone has been going digital for a while now and is started effecting that older age bracket who while watching it wish to do so on their own schedule. Hence why Nick did the early release online so they could watch those numbers. But things like the Viacom Dispute a while back that got Nick kicked off Time Warner for a while really hurt their viewership numbers specially among the older ages since during that dead period they moved on and picked up other habits. But it does sound with the articles coming out that maybe Nick might appeal to the older audience with this next season coming up in a few months.
